about me
I grew up on a ranch in Texas (I know it's cliche, but very true) and now we just bought a farm. BIG difference, but I am looking forward to the challenge. I love all creatures, but have been told for years that my totem consist of many big cats (lion, tiger, lynx,etc) as well as wolves and snake (meaning I am grounded to the Earth). A few years back, I did my first sweat lodge and I feel this experience opened my eyes and made me look at the world very differently. I am a big believer in Karma, because it's always come back to me (good and bad). But blessings to all.
I would like to think that I am an open minded person, always wanting to explore new cultures and paths. I've been bellydancing since 2000 and have performed in Chicago, IL, El Paso & Dallas, TX, and several cities in NM. I've studied Egyptian and Turkish Caberat, Raks Gothique (Gothic Bellydance), Dark Fusion, and Tribal. I have met many wonderful and talented dancer, and many who are not either, but you take the good with the bad. I would like to travel more and am working on that.
I am a Rocker by nature, even though it confuses the hell out of everybody, apparently if your black you can only listen to rap (which I hate). I would like to open my own store, selling corsets, hairfalls, custom bellydance costumes, and other hard to find objects (which I make).

When Monique was up on stage at Floralia, I was mesmerized by her talent and amazing technique!
She has taken belly dance to a level that encompasses the power of the Goddess!
The Goddess comes alive when she dances on stage and you can feel her all around you!
Monique is one of the most talented dancers I have seen in a long time and she was a breath of fresh air to watch!.
I am truely blessed to have seen her dance and I look forward to seeing her star shine brighter and brighter as she dances along her path in life.
I am grateful to the Goddess that our paths met!

What a Beautiful Dancer! That's what I always hear when Monique dances. It is true. Monique is the quintessentially Lovely Dancer who seems to have the inherent ability to transmute the music through her body effortlessly. She makes it look so easy! What can I say about Monique, cept girlfriend's a hoot! I love seeing her dance and i love hanging out w/ her, shes a blast and there's never a dull moment. Hit her up when you see her, she'll make you laugh! you rock Monique!

Wow what I say about the lovely Monique....... Ya Lovely. We Saw Monique last year at the Tor C show, and she just amazed us, I hate to bring it up but Monique CD did not play, But she just danced and she made the whole crowd just sit still in AWE, yes I mean in AWE, everyone loved her. Very professional, dance with grace and passion. We only met her a couple of times but she just makes you feel like we have been friends forever and the way you treat people we will be friends forever. Good luck and see ya soon.
A couple of you have wondered why you haven't seen or heard from me in a while and I truly apologize for that. For the last few months, my faith and spirit have been tested time after time, with no end in sight...until recently. After the fire and all the dismay, things are getting a lot better for Jesse and I. We moved into a bigger place for a lot less than we were paying. I even end up with two seperate craft rooms and an extra serger and sewing machines. We lost two uncomfortable couches, but gained a beautiful living room set in their places. Lots of love and support from family, friends, and coworkers/bosses which keep us going when we didn't think we could.

Here in El Paso and Las Cruces, there is not really any places for bellydancer to perform (and be appreciated), yet, there is a lot of fighting over these crappy places. Undercutting, spelling lies, and creating cattiness that discourages other places to hire bellydancer.
Also, you do not get to be a bellydance teacher after taking a couple of lessons. That is a huge problem in El Paso. These unexperienced teachers are producing more bellydancer with no actual technique, who than become t...
