Here is the journal that we kept during our performance run. For each hour one of us (DB = Daniel & JM = Jonathan) wrote a short description and thoughts about that performance. For each hour we selected, at random, a short phrase from a number of books to serve as a kind of jumping off point, or an inspiration - or, as we called it, our "compass". We hope you enjoy the journey, which is, of course, so different than the physical journey we went on.....

Yes, Jonathan and I did survive our 24-hour performance. We performed each hour without fail - and we only had one hour where we had no audience, but, yes, we still performed. The whole arch of the 24-hours is still fuzzy and hard to get a handle on - it is SO much information! I, and I think Jonathan, can talk about and analyze certain hours, but the whole is still hard to talk about. So, here are some impressions - even though exactly what hour things happened is not clear either...:

I am a dancer/choreographer/improviser and the Director of The PlayGround, Co-Director of Improv Arts, inc., Co-Curator for the DC International Improvisation Festival, and serve on the Steering Committee for the West Coast Contact Improvisation Festal. My work has been presented at John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Dance Place, Lisner Auditorium, The Warehouse Theater, The H Street Playhouse and numerous other venues throughout the D.C. region as well as in New York City, San Francisco and the Mid-Atlantic states. I currently teach at George Washington University, Joy of Motion Dance Centers, and CityDance Center at Strathmore. I have also taught at the West Coast Contact Improvisation Festival, at numerous universities and as guest teacher for Cirque du Soleil. I am also a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner. I live just outside DC is a sweet little 1918 farmhouse with my wife - Andrea - our cat (Bessie) and nutty dog (Mountain).
