When you think you look ridiculous but everyone around you says you look beautiful, it really messes with your sense of self-perception. Especially when every picture you've seen provides visual confirmation that you indeed looked every bit as ridiculous as you thought you did.

I am also getting rid of shoes and books.



The yarn stays, though. For now.

It begins. I'm getting those old couches hauled away tomorrow morning!!!



One of the couches was given to me by a very dear lady who took me under her wing in St. Pete when I was still Little Girl Lost, and I've been hanging onto it for sentimental reasons (also because Maggie likes to sleep on it), but it's time to go. I think Belinda would in fact be very proud that I can afford to buy my own couches now.



The other couch was plucked off a street corner in my neighborhood the night of my housewarming party. Also, time to go.

If one was to get new living room furniture, what's the procedure? Do you get rid of the old stuff first, then order the new stuff? Or do you wait until the new stuff is on order before getting rid of the old? Do you have to hire somebody to haul the old stuff away, or do the guys delivering the new stuff take care of all that? What if you just wanted to get rid of the old stuff and weren't necessarily in a mad hurry to get new stuff because you wanted to paint the walls? WHAT DO I DO????



(This is why I haven't done anything with my house in eight years. I get so overwhelmed with questions, I don't know where to start, and curl up in a fetal position in the corner until the mood passes.)

I understand why this is so upsetting to a great many people, but I for one am sure as hell not about to dig up my father's remains to make certain that's really him under there. Because, it's not.

You can absolutely wear black eyeliner on the inner rim of your lashes. Your mother is wrong. It does not make you look like a whore. You do, however, need to go neutral with the eyeshadow, or forgo it altogether.
