I'm originally from California, but moved overseas in elementary school and didn't come back to the states until I was nineteen. So, sometimes I do silly things like over fill slushies, drive on the wrong side of the road (very rarely), and mix up my spanish and japanese. I lived in NC for a couple years with my husband and it turns out that both NC and the husband were a bad fit, so I took my son and drove north in January of 2007 and moved back in with mom and pops. I've been incredibly lucky since moving to MD, finding a job that lets me combine my passion for cooking and creating art, and also making some really good friends. Both things have contributed to me "finding" myself again, because I got lost somewhere between Japan and NC, and was feeling not myself for quite some time, uh, but the point is, that now that I'm back to the old me, I'm better at my most important job, being Mommy. My son is 5, a kindergartener and makes me laugh all the time.
The one good thing that I was able to take away from the whole north carolina experience was discovering bellydance, and the people I met along the way. I'm dancing again, and that feels great. Well, it feels a little scary, I was recently invited to join an awesome fusion troupe, as a student member, but I'm sure it will be all shimmies once I get over the nerves. I always feel like I'm rambling when I write these things, so I'm going to stop now.
