OUCH!!!
Tue, December 18, 2007 - 5:57 PMShe is a little orange colored torbie( tortoise shell and tabby)
She needed 3 days to recover so I had her in my bathroom for a few days and I I let her out of the cage in the bathroom.
When I got home from Arizona- she seemed to have healed well and had eaten all her canned food and some kibble.
As soon as I tried to get her in the cat carrier, she went crazy and literally climbed the walls and knocked the curtains off the window.
Using lots of towels and after getting bitten on both hands I was able to get her into the carrier to release back into the empty lot next door.
There is NO way this kitty could be tamed and made into a pet. But at least she can't have more homeless kittens.
I'm going to keep feeding her.
I poured peroxide on my bites right away but my left wrist REALLY hurts and I can barely move it without pain.
You can't tell in the picture but it is swollen.
I never realized how useful both wrists are until now. Fortunately we opted to get her a rabies vaccine when she was spayed so I don't have rabies!
Ali and Bruce are feeding me tonight so at least I don't have to make dinner.

The other thing I thought was really civilized of her, even though she is feral, is that she used her litter box.

that's awesome Jae! thanks for doing that. it really does help to reduce the feral cat problem, which is a complicated and difficult environmental problem, it is also a really hard life for a cat. I hope your wrists heal up fast.

Ouch indeed... watch for infection, since cats' mouths are NOT clean in the way dogs' are, which is why they get abscesses so easily after fights...
