JAYA RADHA MADHAVA
"Of the two energies manifest [spirit and dull matter], beings possessing living force [vegetables, grass, trees and plants] are superior to dull matter [stone, earth, etc.]. Superior to nonmoving plants and vegetables are worms and snakes, which can move. Superior to worms and snakes are animals that have developed intelligence. Superior to animals are human beings, and superior to human beings are ghosts because they have no material bodies. Superior to ghosts are the Gandharvas, and superior to them are the Siddhas. Superior to the Siddhas are the Kinnaras, and superior to them are the asuras. Superior to the asuras are the demigods, and of the demigods, Indra, the King of heaven, is supreme. Superior to Indra are the direct sons of Lord Brahma, sons like King Daksa, and supreme among Brahma's sons is Lord Siva. Since Lord Siva is the son of Lord Brahma, Brahma is considered superior, but Brahma is also subordinate to Me, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Because I am inclined to the brahmanas, the brahmanas are best of all."

We just enjoyed an ecstatic Nrsimha Caturdasi, and continue to appreciate the spiritual benefits. After weeks of rain, the sun came out and opened many beautiful flowers for the garlands. We enjoyed looking at more than 100 different images of Sri Nrsimhadev’s many forms, then read a selection of the detailed descriptions in Srimad-Bhgavatam of the pastimes of Prahlada Maharaja and Lord Nrsimhadev. We followed with a blissful pushpanjali ceremony while chanting and hearing 108 of Lord Nrsimha’s transcendental names.

An excellent feast was offered of Bhagara Rice, Mango Khatti Dal, Paneer Eggplant Sabji with maha boondi, Poda Pitta, Coconut Singhara Columns (two of which broke open during the baking!), Mirchi Ka Salan, Stuffed Bitter Melon, Blueberry Raita, Hot Apple Chutney, a milk sweet shaped like Lord Nrsimha's Claws, Fried Garland Sweets, Almond Katli and Laksmi Kheer. The kirtan was loud and joyful, and everyone relished prasadam together afterwards. See my photo album for more pictures of the day's activities.
Today was a momentus day. With little rhyme or reason, and little notice, an obstacle in our path was removed today. Many Hindus pray to Ganesh for the elimination of obstacles to their business and life in general. We offer all obeisances to Sri Ganesh, but don't offer particular worship or requests for boons to him. Today, we have to see events as Krsna's mercy, Krsna's arrangements. Somehow, the wheel got greased to roll forward again, in a new direction that we hope will somehow enable our preaching program. A good, good day.
