Sixth Annual Luna Gitana Festival

This year's Luna Gitana Festival features Dalia Carella of New York. Dali will be teaching four workshops the weekend of October 12th that cover Bollywood/Bhangra Fusion, Turkish/Romany Technique, Middle Eastern choreography, and her own signature Dunyavi Roma dance.
On Saturday, October 13th, Dalia will perform at the Henry J Mello Center for Performing Arts. Special guest performers include Alexandra King, Crystal, Judeen, Shoshanna, RaksArabi, Ya Habibi Dance Company.

. . .to anyone who volunteers to be an usher or stage runner for the show. We currently need 2 more ushers and a stage runner (preferably female) for the sixth annual Luna Gitana Festival. Dalia Carella is headlining, other special guest performers include Alexandra King, Crystal Silmi, Judeen, Shoshanna, RaksArabi, Ya Habibi Dance Company, and Gitaneria Arabesca.
The show will take place Saturday, October 13th at the Henry J Mello Center for Performing Arts in Watsonville, CA. Volunteers will need to be there by 6 pm.

Silk Veil Workshop with Sahar

Sahar will be at Dance Odyssey Studio on Saturday, October 20th teaching basic veil techniques for students who are new to 3-4 yard silk veils. This workshop will also include additional concepts for experienced students and performers. This workshop will add grace, fluidity of movement, emotional projection, and a deeper connection to music. Please bring a 3-4 yard rectangular silk veil. Soft soled shoes are encouraged but not required.

Folk Dances of the Middle East workshop series with Amanda

Amanda has over 15 years experience studying and performing Near Eastern Dance. She has been a principle member of Hahbi'Ru Dance Ensemble since 1999, and has also performed with the Yore Folk Dance Ensemble and Danse Mahgreb.
Amanda will be teaching some of the most popular folk line dances of the Near and Middle East on Saturdays at Dance Odyssey Studio. Some of the topics covered during this four week series will be Lebanese Dabke, Greek Syrto, Armenian Tamzara, and Armenian Laz Bar. This workshop is a must for dancers wishing to increase the depth of their dance knowledge.
