This has got to be the most quiet I have ever seen Tribe on a saturday. I've been on almost all day and even the most busy Tribes I'm in are almost silent. I really hope this isn't a glimpse of the future of Tribe! I mean I can say that I hate the new version of Tribe, and I'm actually liking it less and less as I explore the changes, but I really hope this last change doesn't put Tribe to its end... R.I.P. Trtibe?

Green Bacon!

Scientists in Taiwan say they have bred three pigs that glow in the dark and will produce green bacon. They claim that while other researchers have bred partly fluorescent pigs, theirs are the only pigs in the world which are green through and through, thus producing the finest green bacon in the world. The pigs are transgenic, created by adding genetic material from jellyfish into a normal pig embryo. The researchers hope the pigs will boost the island's stem cell research, as well as helping with the study of human disease and the bacon industry. So it is just about time for me to say goodbye...I'm leaving on holiday in the Caribbean this Wednesday! The only bad thing is my back is giving me problems. This really sucks...plan a vacation out a year in advance and then my back goes out right before it is time to leave. Keep your fingers crossed for me that it gets better in the next couple of days because as of right now it isn't looking good. %^( Oh yeah, I almost forgot...whatdaya want!? So check out this headline...last week a lady called 911 to report that she was served cold onion rings at a fast food joint and the employee refused to give her new rings and now this... Smoker tried to open plane door: The woman was arrested when the plane landed in Australia A French woman has admitted attempting to open an aeroplane door mid-flight so that she could smoke a cigarette. Sandrine Helene Sellies, 34, who has a fear of flying, had drunk alcohol and taken sleeping tablets ahead of the flight from Hong Kong to Brisbane. She was seen on the Cathay Pacific plane walking towards a door with an unlit cigarette and a lighter. She then began tampering with the emergency exit until she was stopped by a flight attendant. Defence lawyer Helen Shilton said her client had no memory of what had happened on the flight on Saturday, and that she had a history of sleepwalking. She pleaded guilty to endangering the safety of an aircraft at Brisbane Magistrates Court and was given a 12-month A$1,000 (?429) good behaviour bond - she will forfeit the money if she commits another offence. Well today is the the day, the first day of snow in Ashland this year! Started coming down on my way to work and hasen't stopped yet. Can't wait till Mt. Bachelor opens...decided to boycott Mt. Ashland, or should I say Mt. Aspen, this year due to a crazy ticket price hike. It is only $10 more to ride at Bachelor now. Anyway...bring it on...I can't get enough of this stuf! So I haven’t really done much, but my friend Chad came over last night and brought my computer back from the dead! It was really odd, the computer was acting as if one of the hard drives may have failed or as if the motherboard burned up, but all it was was the power supply. Plugged in a new power supply and off it went! I was so worried that something major was botched and that I was gonna lose it all or that it was gonna cost me a ton to get it fixed. My computer broke...

Yes, it is true, my computer at home has taken a very large shit! I feel alone with a hollow in my stomach...I don't even feel like eatting. This sucks so much, at this point it seem that I've lost everything. A friend and I are going to give it a little deeper look tomorrow, but I'm thinking things are bad. I'm mean I know it isn't then end of the world, but what a pain in the butt! Not only have I lost a ton of artwork, but I have no money to get a new computer...which, I use very single day. I don't feel good... %^(

Not really, I was never that kid, but it sure was a lot of fun learning how to and actually making this stuff. So, "why make a large pot of paste?" you might find yourself asking...for pasting things to stuff of course! Duh! What I'm going to be doing is using the paste to hang a large piece of art to a wall in downtown Ashland. I don't know if you all are familiar with wheat pasting but for the most part it entails making paste and then hanging posters with said paste. I'm going to be hanging a very large multi-pieced poster. Did I mention the stuff is near impossible to get off once it is dry...in general it has to be ground off the surface? If I don't start finishing some art projects I swear I'm going to explode! I've been coming up with so many interesting ideas as of late that I can't seem to get one done before another one pops into my head and I start working on it. I've tried the sketchbook method of documenting all the ideas for later and then coming back to them, but this isn't taking care of the itch! I guess I'm just going to have to lock myself indoors until I complete one...all I have to do is decide which one to start with. Ready to move...again..I think?

So I think I've finally come to the point of realizing that it is time for me to make a move. Time to get out of this one horse town and move into the big city. Time to get the resume back in working order. Time to start the endless hunt for a new job and a place to call my home. Time to just make a change. I've been thinking that I'm not getting any younger and that now is the time to make this type of change before I get anymore stuck in my ways here in Ashland. I mean it is great here and all, but there seems to be so many more opportunities in Portland that there is just no comparing the two. I guess the main reason I feel I need to move is that I know here in Ashland I'm likely to never have the opportunity to get ahead. Housing is so expensive and the job market is so little and low paying at that. So, I've decided to put myself out there and see what happens. Over the next week I'm going to get my resume back in shape and check out what Monster.com has to offer...we shall see. Every time I see that there is going to be maintenance preformed by Tribe I find myself saying "NOT AGAIN!” I think this response has come about due to the fact that, other than the profile updates, every time Tribe makes an update they seem to go in the wrong direction. Has Tribe lost all its sense of design? The main reason I came to Tribe in the first place was due to its ease of use and its pleasing esthetic nature. Every time an update has been made a little of this has been lost. I think they should be reminded that in most cases, not all mind you but most, that less is more. I can understand the placement of ads on the side of all the pages as they have done in the past, but ads in the thread!? Come on already! I understand the need to use ads to pay for all the costs of keeping Tribe alive, but it seems like they could go about it via other methods. Do they really think that by placing ads in the thread that they will get more clicks on them, click by accident maybe? Did they not get enough clicks from the ads on the sides of the pages? Maybe that is due to the fact that most net savvy persons have an innate distrust in these ads and the companies that put them out. What if we promise to click on one ad a month then would they stop this new campaign? Anyway, I could go on forever. If Tribe is planning on springing the membership fee thing on us they should just do it now and get it over with. I'd be happy to pay a fee to not ever have to deal with this crap again on Tribe. word~ Jamaican Steve

...is a horrible thing. I don't think I've been without a connection to the Internet at home for more than a week since...lets see...1985 I think. At this very momment I'm sitting at my desk at work on the weekend just so I can get on Tribe and see what's happening; oh yeah, I also had to check my Powerball ticket, and before you ask, no, we aren't going to be headed to the Carribean this week. I'll give it another whirl next week...sorry. Anyway, I'm glad to see that you are all still here. I was starting to worry since I haven't been able to check in very often as of late...love ya. Oh yeah, I got this new Cat5 cable from work (see picture) and can't even put it to use yet at home...

The first night...

So being that yesterday was the first day I could move into the new place I decided that what better time to start staying there. It is always interesting sleeping in a new place for the first time, new noises, smells, you know, that type of thing. I must say, for sleeping on the floor with a blanket and a pillow, it wasn't half bad...I slept great! I'm super excited about this new place. So close to town I can walk to work and it sleeps well to boot! Things are only gonna get better as I get settled.

Man it seems like I move at least twice a year nowadays and it never seems to get any easier! I was just counting in my head how many times I've moved in the last eight years at the magic number is...11 times. Now that is a lost of times. I wonder how better adjusted I might be, being a cancer, if I lived in a place for longer than a year? Oh well, change is probably something that does me good whether it seems that way or not. This time I feel like it is a move for the better. A new roommate, right downtown, close to work and everything else for that matter, cheap rent, cool neighbors, and no longer will I have the oppressive thumb of the man on my back. Anyway, just thought I'd yet all ya know...and if you are in town make sure to stop by, you are always welcome! Send me messages if you are coming to or through town, a nice place to crash and beers are on me! Oh yeah, I almost forgot...if you can lend a hand or a truck in the next week or so I would be super excited about it and will provide sustenance and libations in exchange for said services! cheers! One change I noticed though that I didn't like was in the "people" page...tried searching for someone in your area as of late...good luck...I liked the old method much better.
