about me
I'm an alternative girl, but not dogmatic. I grow my own organic veg and am living in a house which is heated with wood. I am therefore frequently covered in dirt or wood chips,- and when I paint.. well, you get the idea.
When I go out I do brush up quite well though, and think I can be taken anywhere without embarrassment ; -))
For me to feel close to anyone he or she has to be good natured and kind, (I dont care what current statisticians say about what modern women want!: I like kind people!), ideally you should care about ecology and social problems as much as I do.
I love reading Sci-Am or the like, I like to examine things under my microscope,- and have been known to miss my stop when travelling on public transport because I was reading about composting.

my testimonials

March 17, 2007
Jana was the first person who made me feel welcome on tribe, who answered my questions. She is a gracious, caring soul. My image when visiting with her is of sitting in a beautiful garden, with my toes in the warm moist earth, sipping a fragrant cup of herbal tea. And then a red cat with kaleidoscope eyes walks by. By that I mean Jana helps me feel grounded, brings beauty into our exchanges, and adds that nice quirky touch when you least expect it.
I look forward to getting to know her better as my friend over time and am pleased to make this testimonial.
Thanks Jana for being my friend.

Wild Geese by Mary Oliver

You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert, repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.
Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and the deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air,
are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting--
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.

my blog

I am on holiday in Delaware. The Amish and Mennonite country just around the corner. As we arrive at the Atlantic beach, families and trendy surfer wannabes crowd the beach. Bikinis, Ice cream and amusement arcades on the boardwalk.. only the noise of the waves can drown out their noise.
In amongst them two Mennonite girls clutch each others hand as the waves wash up and around their hand sewn dresses, their tightly folded long hair tucked up in their little bonnets. not moving, just standi... read more

I just had my daughter #1 visit from Germany. It was her birthday again on the 25th December.
She turned 22 years old.

I still remember expecting her. Sitting there in the snow in Norway, rotund and heavy, excited about having my first baby. I was 22 years old. I remember sitting there, wondering what it will be like when I am 44 and she will be 22 in turn.
My way with numbers is not very good, so I didnt realise at the time that it will take place in the year 11,-

So here I am agai... read more

my new patio/deck whatever..

finally, I managed to sort this -tiny patio- problem out.

I have decided I will be staying here for at least another year/season. Lots of reasons,.. but the most positive of all is that I work at the TüLab (= Tinkering Lab) now and I get to be around fun and creative people.

I am growing veg again this year, after last years's failure.. and I am hoping for a good Summer. Mmmh..

Wil's Testament

"Religion is a compass, not a map.
We can also navigate by the stars.

Now is what matters now.

Some ancient scribe left an “o” out of the word “good” in order to save a little papyrus, and look at all the confusion that’s followed. I think our lesson here is that details matter.

Sometimes society seems to me to be a system of gas giant egos with pretty moons dancing around them. We live on different worlds together.

We are smarter and better informed than any of us.

Bush is not the problem.
He re presents the problem.
Stupidity is the problem.
We’re working on it.

We unfold the plan.
The plan unfolds us."
