about me
I'm an alternative girl, but not dogmatic. I grow my own organic veg and am living in a house which is heated with wood. I am therefore frequently covered in dirt or wood chips,- and when I paint.. well, you get the idea.
When I go out I do brush up quite well though, and think I can be taken anywhere without embarrassment ; -))
For me to feel close to anyone he or she has to be good natured and kind, (I dont care what current statisticians say about what modern women want!: I like kind people!), ideally you should care about ecology and social problems as much as I do.
I love reading Sci-Am or the like, I like to examine things under my microscope,- and have been known to miss my stop when travelling on public transport because I was reading about composting.

That's what They say..

March 17, 2007
Jana was the first person who made me feel welcome on tribe, who answered my questions. She is a gracious, caring soul. My image when visiting with her is of sitting in a beautiful garden, with my toes in the warm moist earth, sipping a fragrant cup of herbal tea. And then a red cat with kaleidoscope eyes walks by. By that I mean Jana helps me feel grounded, brings beauty into our exchanges, and adds that nice quirky touch when you least expect it.
I look forward to getting to know her better as my friend over time and am pleased to make this testimonial.
Thanks Jana for being my friend.

Wild Geese by Mary Oliver

You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert, repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.
Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and the deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air,
are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting--
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.

It is 19° C (66° F) and I have been enjoying my garden again, after months of grey and freezing temperatures. Ah what a treat!

We found little teeny tiny frogs, and the newts have also moved back into our little pond. The cats are chasing the bumble bees, and the sound system is streaming my favourite tunes (Gorillaz, Beck, BoC..) to keep me company while I am weeding the flower beds.

So simple,- yet so satisfying.

The only thing missing is YOU!! Consider yourself invited for a c... read more

I am having tremedeous fun putting together this little Ukulele kit. It is soon finished. Today I am burning a nice pattern on the surface, and then it will get its final varnish. Wohoo!

No idea what I am going to do with it.. since I dont play Ukulele... but I guess its never too late to start, right?

Maybe my lover will be able to assist me, since he is a guitarist. Yes, I am enjoying the excitement of romance, for the first time in.. oooh.. lets not go into that. A wonderful feeli... read more
