yesterday i went into safeway here and the first three people my eyes fell upon were morbidly obese. this town weird like the south or something. then i left and saw three more (real young) just sitting on the side of the road sucking sodas or something.

9 weeks into our pregnancy we recieved the unfortunate news, via weekly email from babycenter.com, that our baby, who is the size of a grape now and can just now wiggle it's arms and legs, has lost it's embryonic tail. This has been difficult for me. Anna is doing better about it than i am. i guess it's natural but somehow that doesn't help the disappointment.

my wife drew a bath in the redwood round. a frog jumped in and was blanched. she brought it to me on a scrubbie all mortified in mid jump. i had a bar-b-q going anyway. tasty little leggies. it was the least i could do. po froggie.
