Saracen released today on Six Degrees Records

SARACEN WORLD WIDE RELEASE
SUMMER TOUR DATES

Hello everyone
Very happy to announce that Saracen, my full length debut on Six Degrees Records hit the stores today!

It is a lush rhythmic journey of into the electronic outerlands of Arabic, Turkish and Balkan music with great performances by MC RAI, Reda Darwish and Persian vocalist Hooman Fazly
I feel the album really sums up the path I have been on for many years. I hope you enjoy it. Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to help get it out, MC RAI, Yossi Fine, Hooman, Six Degrees etc...

It should be available everywhere worldwide including Itunes and all major retailers.

The entire album can be previewed on my website @ www.jefstott.com

I will be interviewed on KUSF 90.7 in SF tonight at around 10:30 if you want to tune in. It should be archived as well on the FreeFall program link.

I will be doing a lot of touring this Spring and Summer to support the release
and things kick off with a bang this Friday with DrumSpyder and I at Amnesia with the Baxtalo Drom crew, a crazy gypsy punk rock night at Amnesia!

I am also involved in a very interesting project that is having an event Saturday in Berkeley. It is the Rhythm in Peace project that is gearing up to go to Morocco this summer to record sacred womens music there. The project is spearheaded by composer and percussionist Marla Leigh. We are performing at Kula Yoga in Berkeley on Saturday to raise awareness about the project. Show info is at www.marlaleigh.com

So here are the tour dates. Full show info is up on my website and at the Six Degrees Records site.

Thanks for staying in touch and I hope to see you out there at the shows.

caio,
Jef

BAB AZIZ! a great Sufi Movie

I just saw Bab Aziz, wonderful film that is being released in the States this month. It is the sweet and mystical story of a Sufi and his grand daughter wandering the desert in search of a Sufi music gathering. Filled with parables and bedtime stories that address the divine, death, and the nature of reality, this movie is fantastic. The music is unbelievably beautiful!
If you have any interest in Persian culture, Sufism, or World Music you should try to see it. It is only here for a minute and may not be back...
