about me
i'm wild for inventive street theatre. fire, sparks, circus delights & the vaudville macabre; the political, the nonsensical, the brilliant and the bizarre- ah, that's where my heart is!

on LJ?me too: jennaXide

*Barker/bally/bitch for Primary Element
*Ongoing acrobatics/acrobalancing training since 2005
*object manipulation; including marching band rifle & flag (4 years with the INB), fire chains, some juggling
*hellcat with a grinder
*singer, good with harmonies
*10-year love/hate relationship with Aikido
*artist's model
*grizzled old veteran volunteer/organizer for the geniuses in this town, including the Degenerate Art Ensemble, Circus Contraption, the INB, HazardFactory, Primary Element & PostWorld Industries

i talk well, i listen well. i like things that explode, be they fire breathing or volcanos. i adore genuineness and a racaous sense of humor. i make up dialogue for my cats. i make mobils out of paper cranes and bits of string. i bind books out of materials that were never inteded to bind books. i write a lot when no one is looking.

Dear Sir,

It has come to our attention that recently the jenna has been allowed a somewhat unrestricted level of exposure to your wares. We have decided that this kind of behavior may not be in the interest of the common good. Please allow us to explain our position.

This morning, for example, as C-SPAN showed the congressional hearings of the three GluttenCorp brand credit card companies (Citi, BOA, & Chase Banks), the jenna was allowed to get exceedingly agitated and, while yelling a... read more

the two outstanding things i learned from yesterday's Nor'Western bluegrass adventure was this: 1) next time, i'm wearing my track shoes, and 2) the accordion is grossly under represented in this bluegrass community.

my experience with bluegrass music festivals has been limited to Winfield, which is the grandaddy of all bluegrass festivals. it's where they have the national flatpicking championships every year (if you don't know what flatpicking is, don't worry. it doesn't come up again in... read more

I believe that our power for celebration is a great tool in our activist arsenal. I think that performance is a valuable motivational tool, an entertaining moralizer and a hill of fun. Marching bands in the street, the Radical Cheerleaders, renegade clowning, the Biotic Baking Brigade, cacerolazo, street dances, going to jail in a gorilla suit and roller skates—all powerful instruments to inspire change and move the masses.

I formed these ideas as I faced off with Seattle police at the an... read more
