about me
A belly dancing Pastor's wife in the mid-west -oy! Strange but true. I love tribal style- especially neo-tribal styles that blend the carnivalesque. I also founded Mysterious Ways which is my student troupe - where we explore different forms of the dance. I also work with several talented women to produce "Sandstorm" (www.sandstorm.us) an annual theatrical show featuring the best and brightest dancers in the field. I also work with another amazing dancer to form the fusion duet: Azra Narr - keep watch for a link to that site (I'm building it now) you can also visit my site: www.jenndances.com or check out my myspace blog at: www.myspace.com/jenndances

You are amazing. You've taken a life situation that was neither of your choosing nor expectation and have made not only lemonade, but lemon chiffon pie, lemon bars, lemon smoothies, lemon tea, and anything else you could possibly make with lemons, and then made them better than anyone else ever has.
Your dancing has come so very far since that first "sumo" bellydancer stance, and I am so proud of you. Keep flying, dear one! Kathy (And, yes, I finally got some more pics up!) May 19, 2007

Magdalene is a great performer, a phenominal dancer and just an all-around great person to hang out with. She made her FreakShow Deluxe debut in August 2004 at Clear Channel Radio's X-Fest in Dayton, Ohio in front of the capacity crowd of 16,500 people, and I think she kept every last one of them spell-bound. I hope she performs with the FreakShow Deluxe again, soon!
I had strange dreams last night. I dreamed I was at a funeral - my husband was the officiant - I didn't realize until I got there that it was for someone I knew, a young woman who also bellydances. I was devastated....there were follow-on services for her later in the evening which I stayed for when low and behold, Il Troubadore arrives as do several other dancers and they begin putting together a set list for the service. Then the 'deceased' dancer arrives, but she's not dead...

Not necessarily - remember you are what you eat. I love a hamburger every now and again, but alas...after finding out what the beef industries do - I'll be pushing that plate away.

Okay, I've been using a hair product that I thought was just coconut oil (for a while now) and now, after noticing that my hair is sticky and dull, I looked at the ingredients and low and behold, one of the other ingredients is petroleum jelly (read: vaseline) it's in the garbage now.

***** At the Hour of Our Death Is a proper burial for World Trade Center victims a justice issue? Diane Horning's vigil for the conscience of America. by Rose Marie Berger It was a clear May day on Staten Island in New York, clouds high and wispy against the cerulean sky. A slight Atlantic breeze bent the scrub grass along the highway. Then the wind direction changed, and I inhaled the sickly sweet smell of decomposition. I had arrived at the Fre... read more
