Dj Starseed - real name Jeremy Barnes.




Since 1994, Dj Starseed has played in ten countries on four continents.

Jeremy was born in 1975, one sunny summer day in Hollywood, California (where he was babysat by an upstart John Travolta). He moved with his family to Sweden in 1979, and left 1994 after getting turned on to the parties and the early Goa releases. He was to spend the following seven years traveling.

Along the way he collected music and networked, leading to many epic experiences and friendships. These experiences in turn fueled the studio sessions which were to take place along the way.

Apart from Djing alongside psy-trance fame, such as Juno Reactor's Mike McGuire, Anti, Tsuyoshi, Koxbox, Dino Psaras, Etnica' Max Lanfranconi, Antix, Vibrasphere, and Olli Wisdom, Jeremy was also influenced by studio-sessions together with Tim Healey (Quirk, Electric Tease, Allen & Healey etc.), Unconscious Collective (UK), Celli (Earthling, T.I.P), Bioforce (D), D.I.M.O (BTM, Tatsu), and Shin (Jap).


During the course of the time spent in Germany Jeremy was offered a contract by a Sony/BMG agent. He declined and remained below surface, joining friends in their studios instead.

These collaborations led to a few releases on Phantasm Records (UK), with Starseed working with Tim Healey as Metrognomes, and on German BTM Records, where he was working together with Dimo Feldmann, and Gregor Totz, Bioforce.

2005 - Sweden...

Doing an internship at Music-A-Matic, a vintage studio.
(chock-full of Universal Audio, Neve mixers, Fairchild, Neumann and Moog originals)

And put out a new album, Starseed - A Million Hz Away, the seven-years-coming full-length debut of Jeremy Starseed, released on new self-owned and operated label 67 Rec.

2006 - Sweden
Started my company Mothership Inc. which revolves around my mastering studio in central Gothenburg, Sweden. Plans for the studio were drawn up together with the acoustics experts Akustikon, who have also done work for the BBC. First mastering job was released on EMI in Aug. 2006.

2007: Wrote and released the first Reon album on my label 67Rec.
Restored a 60's Telefunken console, with the infamous V70 series line amps on every channel, 20 in all, and installed it at Mothership Mastering. Also bought a Studer tape machine.

Recording a few songs for talented singer and songwriter Sandra Nagano.

2008:
A new Reon album is on the way...
