For most of July I have been leading a group of mushroom minded folks around Ecuador. We started out visiting the mycoremediation project we coordinate and taking a Toxic Tour of the Texaco oil spill in the Ecuadorian Amazon, the biggest oil spill in the world and a breathtaking mess of poison and death. At the last minute I was called deep into the jungle by a messenger friend heading out on a canoe the next morning. I quickly found myself wrapped in the forest`s leafy folds and welcomed the teachings of its vines, which reached out and told me plainly, through the guise of a smiling old shaman cloaked in bright feathers, that it was time for us to merge. I had sent out hints to the universe for months, asking for this moment to find me...now I only had to obey.

anyone ever had a laptop stolen?
