My Testimonials

April 28, 2005
Jivette is a true friend. She is always willing to listen and share stories. She is an inspiration to the unmotivated, through dilagent practice she has become an amazing dancer and fire spinner.

Jivete is someone who is honestly trying to be a better person in the world. Through her self analysis and evolution she inspires me to examine myself and my motives. I can argue with her and be inspired by her in the same 5 minutes. She is genuinely a good person and someone I am proud to call my friend. I love watching her spin fire. Layla

about me
Hmmm, well one could say I have a few quirky hobbies but they change from year to year. Right now, belly dance, fire spining, my horse, writing my book, going camping/hiking, working on my house, drumming, working on Flamenco and yoga...Next year, oh it's hard to tell but I imagine it'll be more of the same. But then, I am an Aquarius.

Re: Remember the no poo thread (in Makeup and Hair for Dancers) When I use them I use shikakai and amla mixed together. I just get them from the local Indian grocery store. The 100gram boxes are really cheap, like less than $2. I use very little, 1tsp shikakai and 2 tsp of amla to 16 ounces of water. The s... read more

Remember the no poo thread (in Makeup and Hair for Dancers) Well it convinced me to try no poo. I don't use the baking soda/apple cider vinegar method, too harsh for me. I have used Indian herbs, clay, just water and more recently, just good ol' cheap suave conditioner. My hair has become healthier and ... read more

Ocean are you coming out to Lilies this year? Please? Pretty please?

Re: June Hafla (in Floating Hafla - Kansas City) I vote for May 31st. The rest of June is shot for me (not that that really means anything.). But I believe the St. Louis show is June 7-8, Lilies is the following two weekends and after that it's pretty much July. It could be a pre-Lilies warm up.

Re: Some feedback for mixing Henna and Indigo (in Makeup and Hair for Dancers) I'm getting ready to do this myself. I currently have dyed medium brown hair. I like keeping my hair dark brown, but I'm a little scared of doing a 50/50 mix of henna and indigo and it being too dark (which I've read happens sometimes). I was g... read more

okay, so I bought a couple of painting from an inmate at the Angola Prison Rodeo last weekend. I'm pretty sure they're reproductions (several others were painting I recognized) and I'd like to find out who the original artist is. If anyone knows or can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!

The new horse trailer I think I'm going to buy matches my truck (see picture above)! Now my horse needs all blue and white accessories. She already has a matching halter and trailer boots...

I wrote an entire page last night in my book. I think it's the most I've written in at least 8 months. I've been so bad. But my brain actually exploded with ideas yesterday and I think I'm back on track. Maybe. Oh hell probably not. I just can't submerge myself in it like I used to. Hmmm. Jason and I have decided that engineering sucks the creativity from you. I think sitting behind a computer all day just slowly drains the energy from our bodies. Well I guess we have to force ourse... read more

I really do. Someday I'll be cool enough to thrust my random musings onto the computer, but alas it is not meant to be. Or maybe I just have nothing to say. Ha! I hear some of you laughing. Jivete with nothing to say...

Oh yeah, Hussey rocks.

Now to find some random picture that really has no relevance...
