My Testimonials

January 14, 2007
I can't think of a single thing I wouldn't want to do with J from dancing to diving to getting down or deep or dirty or dithery. He is my favourite conversationalist, no matter my mood, and it's usually grand after a session of wine and hysterical BS with him. Most importantly, he is the most tell-the-truth-sooner person I know. My right hand man.

She's now in Bangladesh working on her Fulbright. Check out her adventures, photos and links to her published works at www.abeerhoque.blogspot.com

I admire the old world craft of instrument making. It's the perfect balance of science and the aesthetic.

I also love how the new world of laptops, MIDI controllers, and software are transforming live music. Check out this video of a new bi-directional controller called the monome 40h. It's quite simple but brilliant. It's a programmable tablet of 8X8 back-lit buttons that, among it's many possible uses, can be mapped to music software. What would be cool is if in the next evolution... read more

I was talking to another Triber about Burning Man and where the money goes. There are some interesting questions about the financials. Why is Burning Man set up as a LLC rather than a non-profit? Where does the 8M+ in ticket sales go?

Here are some interesting things I found a while back I thought I'd share.

Here's a really interesting breakdown of the actual BM costs in 2005.
