I met Joe in a situation where I should have been nervous, upset, overwhelmed and anxious, all at the same time...
But fortunately for me, it was JOE who was doing the instructing! My company wanted me to learn something new, utilizing some state-of-the-art bleeding edge software that nobody else in the company knew how to work. My boss and I flew to DC, and that's when we met our instructor. In just a few days, Joe had taken a couple of database wannabes and turned them into "Vantive Guys..."
Instantly my prestige at my company was enhanced. (did you know that chicks dig Vantive?) Not long afterward, my salary began to rise, and before I knew it, I was a full-fledged database administrator! Who could turn a lifelong musician into an actual working techie guy in just a few short days without even cracking ONE MULLET JOKE?
Joe can do it!
I'll always remember Joe for turning my worst nightmare into a pleasant and rewarding experience. I still have the certificate he signed for me confirming that I had indeed completed the course successfully. Such an easy-going and super-intelligent guy needs to get his props once in a while, and even though I sign thousands of autographs every summer while performing at fairs and festivals around the country, the one autograph I like the most is the one on my "Vantive Guy" certificate that starts with the letters "J - O - E".......
