about me
I'm a professional computer geek who, at this very moment, isn't really all that fond of computer geekery. I play a variety of musical instruments at a variety of shriek-inducing badnesses. I'm currently working hard on a solo CD project which has been sitting on the back burner for quite a while. I live with a small, extremely vocal, psychopathic demon who inhabits the body of a 9-pound cat. I'm recently divorced and becoming pretty involved in a long-distance (and hopefully long-term) relationship. I've discovered that I enjoy baking quite a bit, although I haven't been able to do as much recently as I would like.

NaNo Day 13
(blog entry)
Almost two weeks in. I'm still keeping up with my 2K per day post, although yesterday I only did about 620 words. I'll try to pick it up today when I get home, I think. I copied my novel to a floppy this morning so I could bring it to work, but...

NaNo Day 7
(blog entry)
Well, after a slow weekend, I picked it back up with a bit over 2700 words yesterday, and I'm already over the needed allotment for today, with 1762 so far. Chapter one is pretty well completed, and chapter 2 is getting closer to being done. I'v...

Slow writing weekend...
(blog entry)
I spent a fair chunk of the weekend trying to get a bunch of my music stuff organized, and my writing took a definite beating. I only wrote a little over 800 words the whole weekend. I'm still a bit ahead of the regular posted schedule, but nowh...

NaNo Day 3
(blog entry)
A slower day than the first two for me. I managed to get most of the plot outlined over the past couple of days, with just a bit of the finishing touches this morning. Once that was done, I was sitting at about 6500 words. Since then, though, i...

NaNo Day 2
(blog entry)
Well, it's only about 3:30, and I'm already up to 2200 words for the day. If I assume that I'm going to be able to get about 10 words of the "full novel" for every word of my sketched out story line, I should be most of the way done. I've kind o...

I copied my novel to a floppy this morning so I could bring it to work, but then I forgot to bring the floppy. So my novel is sitting on the counter, ready for me to work on it, rather than here, where I'm twiddling my thumbs. *sigh*

I'm still a bit ahead of the regular posted schedule, but nowhere near as far ahead as I was before. Today, I've managed to get over the 10,000 word mark, which is where I should be to stay on pace. Need to get more, though, so any more of those slow days don't throw me behind schedule.

Once that was done, I was sitting at about 6500 words. Since then, though, it's a matter of going in and filling in the details, which is often more difficult for me. Anyway, I'm at 7063 right now, with 635 words today. I hope to get some enough done later in the day to get me up to the 2000 mark, which is my self-appointe...

I've kind of written myself into a bit of a corner, but I think I should be able to get out of it without too much problem. Regardless, even if I stop here for the day, I'm still well on target. Yay!

In the winter make this 9x13-inch cobbler with canned peaches, in the summer use fresh ones. But either way this cobbler is wonderful. The batter goes in the pan before the spiced peaches, and it 's all topped off with cinnamon and nutmeg. Then it 's baked for an hour.

Lemon lime soda is flavored with drink mix, and poured over ice cream so that it bubbles up. This is a fun drink to make with a group of children. My daughter's Brownie Troop loved it. Use any flavor of drink mix that you like!
