Re: bash vulnerability -- shellshock (in Mac OS X) Yeah, this isn't surprising. Everything running on the machine is running under bash, so it is unsafe to not restart after installing such an important update to it.

Re: bash vulnerability -- shellshock (in Mac OS X) There are different versions being used, yes. Mac OS X 10.6.8 has bash release 3.2.48(1). I believe the current release of Mac OS X is using 3.2.51.

I'm running 3.2.54 on my machines now.
