All right, you're next.

*ahem*

Although I've only met him once, I feel like I've known him forever. He's very easy to talk to, probably due to his very trustable nature. And he's definitely on my list of "People To Seek Out For A Nice Dance With Conversation". Flattery, however, is too freely given. :) Make the ladies work for it, mister.

I look forward to dancing with him (and talking with him) in the future.

*hug*

Always,

Joshua is a wonderfully fun dancer that's just the right height so us short people don't need to strain our necks to look at him. He's always a joy to be around because of his good nature, spirit, humor, musical talent, and the conversations he brings to the table. I'm looking forward too much more dancing with him.

A sweet, funny, and overall awesome guy. A great dancer and a good friend. :) One of those people you can sit and talk to forever and still find things to chat about.

Half-Witticisms and Mad Mutterings

So Facebook has an application that allows people to describe you. Kind of a cool thing. Interesting check on what people are saying. Mostly it's a choice among words already presented, but you can type in your own words as well.

Today, the word "overbearing" appeared. Twice.

I won't dispute the charge; I know myself and my flaws well enough to accept the criticism.

I do, however, wonder whether the people who added and selected the word would have done so if it hadn't been possible to do so anonymously.

Update on first Dickens weekend later tonight. This breaking news story takes precedence:

Am I the only one to think that you could strike the word "irregular" from the title?

Today has been a day for domesticity. A Sears appointment to fix the washer. Ironing. Catching up on TV. Which in this case turned out to be 2 episodes of "Criminal Minds" and one of "Bones."

Yeah. Been a slightly macabre day.

But the stopper for me was the moment when one of the characters had to walk into her house past the bloodstain where she was shot. And she stopped for a moment, couldn't get past it. Gave me a shiver.

When I was 18 and fresh into college, I was hit by a car. A very minor thing, more so considering what *could* have happened. It was late at night, and the sideview mirror of the pickup smacked my right elbow. Spent two weeks in bandages and a sling, I've got a tiny scar. I ALMOST lost my right knee, when you think about where the truck had to have been to catch my elbow.

Point is this. I was out running with a dormmate at 10 PM on a Sunday when I was hit.

My running shoes caught some of the blood from the impact.

I couldn't look at, little say use, those shoes for probably 4 months.

And the TV show gave me the slightest flashback. Creepy.

Courtesy of a lady wolf, and la rosa negra:

If you respond to this, I will:

1. Tell you why I friended you.

2. Associate you with something - fandom, a song, a colour, a photo, etc.

3. Tell you something I like about you.

4. Tell you a memory I have of you.

5. Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.

6. Tell you how I like to think of you.

7. In return, you must , I dunno, do something interesting. Teach me to fly or something.

I'm looking at this as privileged communication, so if I don't have an email address for you, include it in your response.

Yes, I, too, have made preparations for the leap from the sinking ship. I have also made the jump to FaceBook. I'm not entirely comfortable with it, yet, but with Tribe increasingly unable to motivate the hamsters that power the network, options seem few.

So if I haven't found you, feel free to look for me over there.

Stuff & Junk

For anyone still puzzling through exactly what happened in Sept. 2001, find yourself a copy of "Dude, Where's My Country?" DAMN but MM comes up with interesting facts, figures, details, and questions.

And he documents his sources. Yay!

"The Roman Empire Strikes Back." George Lucas needs the work.

But: historical drama, or thriller about a pasta-based superweapon with a moped delivery system? And ... do the Italians really want to rule the world, or are they just looking for a really good sidewalk cafe?

I'm smart. Pretty much, at least. And not in one area; I'm strong in science, history, English. And yes, math.

So why did I need 15 minutes on the phone with my tax accountant to make sure I didn't totally screw up what I reported? This is math, right?

I need aspirin. And some rum.

Happiness is...

- a color printer/copier that does a REALLY NICE job on applications;
- a friend who has taken on the mission of proving to me, daily, that there are worthwhile places to live in the East/South Bay that I'll
be able to afford.

Ammy, you're getting me through this. Can't thank you enough.

about me
Living proof that too much schooling doesn't impart useful day-to-day skills. Just your typical liberal firebrand with a bent towards RenFair & Dickens, an incurable reading habit, a tendency to argue with the television, too many cats, too many mandolins, too little sense, and a devotion to dance. And a tendency to muddle arsy-versy into positions of "responsibility."
