I'm a percussionist, vocalist and ethnomusicologist, specializing in ritual and rhythm of West Africa and North America. I do a lot of work on recording projects, and performances with various fusion "pick-up" bands around the eastern U.S. Right now I'm in Vermont and am on faculty at a private college teaching Ghanaian drumming and World Music courses. I produce the SpiritFire Festival (spiritfirefestival.org) in upstate New York each summer, and also serve in advisory/facilitator roles for many other national and local-level drum and dance based events. I have 2 cats, 1 extremely cool biologist partner, and a good life.
