about me
After graduating from Boston College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology, I moved to Japan. With a desire to visually record all aspects of my life in Tokyo, I found my passion for photography. In 2002, I received formal education by enrolling into the General Studies in Photography Full-Time Certificate Program of International Center of Photography located in New York City.
My camera eye was further refined by assisting photo editors in the News and Editorial Department of Corbis where I saw a countless number of photodocumentary images daily. Most of my earlier work is photo-documentary in style, capturing my human subject in their natural state of being. I tell stories through photo essays; a series of photographs instead of just a single image. You can see MY PHOTOGRAPHS on this website. Enjoy --- www.flickr.com/photos/jpacquing/

Sometimes its really bad. Sometimes its really good. It definately makes for an interesting life. I have my bad moments like everyone else. But on those days when things seem to just go my way, I literally say to myself ... "Life Is Good" ... some positive reinforcement and taking the time (in saying those words) to acknowledge what occurred. The more I have those days, the more I say those words. After a while I begin to realize that Life is INDEED Good. In a world that is equally bitter sweet, I intend to have just a little more sweet.

Day Hiking. South Kaibab Trail 0.75 miles. Ooh Aah Point. Elevation 6320 feet. Where the trail opens to a WIDE spectacular view. I spoke softly... "Oh J.P. , I love you." Intensely studying everything as far as my eyes could see. I told a hiker with his wife, "I feel closer to God".

I saw eagles... a freebird ...floating high above in the deep blue sky. I smiled with envy. But I am in this open space as well. A free spirit. In the quiet-ness, I let out a loud "WhoooOOOO!" and listened as my echo rippled through the air. Grand Canyon, Arizona 10.17.05
"Dancing and music are more pleasing to the gods than rites and prayers. He who assiduously attends dancing performances and takes part in them attains the same result as those who make ritual sacrifices or practice charity"
