their putdowns teasingly whispered

their promises revoked in anger

their tension-resulting rejection

will keep destiny unfulfilled

will alter this life path course

these are our best lessons for balancing love
the here and now reasons to cherish our Selves
that we may share forgiveness and innerstanding
as levers to treasures of wisdom, power, and imperishable peace

Anba Dlo, literally means "beneath the ocean, the waters". It is that primordial, cosmic space where all potentiality lives. It ís the mythological "Haitian Heaven" where all who ever lived will live and the living will end up. It is, to the African warriors who founded Haiti, the road back to Manman "Africa" - Nan Guinen, that cosmic space where the world began with "Le Marasa, le Mor e le Miste."

Anba Dlo to the Haitian is where the great African ancestors, our sacred energies, our strengths and force - the "Lwas," those sacred irreducible essences of the Haitian-African-Black soul - reside.

Anba Dlo is the sacred stillness, the cosmic place, where life sources issue from and return to.

WATER MEDITATION I

Nothing in the world
is as soft and yielding as water.
Yet, for dissolving the hard and inflexible,
Nothing can surpass it.
The soft overcomes the hard;
the gentle overcomes the rigid.
Everyone knows this is true,
but few can put it into practice.


WATER MEDITATION II

Of all the elements, the Sage should take Water as his preceptor.
Water is yielding, but all-conquering. Water extinguishes Fire.
Or, finding itself likely to be defeated, escapes as steam and reforms.
Water washes away Soft Earth, or when confronted by rocks, seeks a way round.
Water corrodes Iron till it crumbles to dust; it saturates the atmosphere so that Wind dies.
Water gives way to obstacles with deceptive humility, for no power can prevent it following its destined course to the sea.
Water conquers by yielding; it never attacks, but always wins the last battle.
The Sage who makes himself as Water is distinguished for his humility.
He embraces passivity, acts from non-action and conquers the world.
