This is my friend Emil's daughter. She is coming into the hoop right now and is totally adorable!
On World Hoop Day, she wore a beautiful bright cobalt blue, shiny, fringed outfit. When Emil told her they were going to celebrate hooping, she said "We can celebrate hooping!?" When he said yes, and was getting her ready, she explained that the outfit he had picked out was NOT a hooper outfit. She had to dress up to celebrate hooping!
It is so fascinating to watch the community evolve and for kids to grow up considering these rituals of dance, music and fun important holy days. What a revolution!
