Two summers ago I spent so much time with a couple of these women (Jessieowl far right and Shelley 2nd to right) hooping. They were my first super dedicated "students." Now they both live very far from here and are taking the hoops into their own communities in NJ and S America. I miss playing with and learning from them too. One of our best creations was an earthen oven that lives in the woods (where they and Scott lived and I stayed about all the time.) There are 3 ladies in relief on the back of this adobe style oven. Each of them has something to represent the hoop and the dance that brought us together deeply...
