My Testimonials

October 14, 2005
Paddy is clearly a woman of rare intellect, freedom, and warmth. Be sure to ask her about lounging horses.

Hmmmmm. What is Magic? It is looking down the hallway on your first day working on a cruise ship and getting kicked in the gut as you see your angel glowing there. You use all your charm, bullshit, and young good looks to hustle a date.
Magic is 16 years later your heart thumps as she shrugs off her robe or turns and smiles. Magic is sharing new experiences daily and growing together. Magic is watching this woman evolve and change while she keeps the core you fell in love with but keeps adding layers. If Paddy ever offers you friendship, run don't walk, to recieve the invitation...you will be blessed.
Cheers

Favorite Quotes

He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would fully suffice. This disgrace to civilization should be done away with at once. Heroism at command, senseless brutality, deplorable love-of-country stance, how violently I hate all this, how dispicable and ignoble war is; I would rather be torn to shreds than be a part of so base and action! It is my conviction that killing under the cloak of war is nothing but an act of murder.

Peace cannot be achieved through violence, it can only be attained through understanding.

Albert Einstein 1947

Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born.

Anais Nin (1903 - 1977)

"Nothing in this world is single
All things by a law divine
In one spirit meet and mingle.
Why not I with thine?"

Shelley

Below are a few quotes from Eisenhower. His words eerily foreshadow the madness of King George.
"In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist."

about me
I passed my 40th birthday; a touch more traumatic than I ever would have suspected. I feel like I should still be in my 20s; while I am cerainly an adult I don't yet feel all grown up. Have started recently to stretch the old brain again after a several year break, as with all exercise it is surprising how much one has lost in just a few years. It has been fun though, and I am so enjoying all the brilliant folks I have met here. I am in the midst of a personal transformation, moving from sorority college girl in my 20's, to semi-hippie chick in my 40's. This past year I have learned much about love, the many kinds there are, how to cherish and nurture the love you have and how to let it go when you must. So, the person you meet here will be changing over time. How this will manifest itself I have no idea just yet.

My thoughts....

We are finally home and with power. It has been since December 20th that our lives haven't been ruled by weather. I spent several days with the most amazing man, Jason, as he made food for me and drove me back and forth from work. Followed by days snowed in without power, finally staying with friends down the mountain for a few nights. Tonight we are at home, Santa yet to visit but expect him in the nest week sor so. We had a wonderful Christmas with games, cards, DO NOT PLAY POKER WITH... read more

Friendship as an adult is far more challenging than friendship as a kid. When you're a kid all you need is a bike, a horse, free time maybe a bit of candy and you're best friends. As a girl, you share secrets, have sleep overs, have crushes, a few tears many many giggles and you have a best friend. I watch this being repeated in the next generation. Our children can name their friends without hesitation or concern that their PMS, bad soccer game or a failed test will change their place w... read more

You have heard much about the arrival of our puppy and he came home yesterday afternoon. We played with he and litter mates for about and hour or so; he slept most of the 2 hour drive home. He has been introduced to many of our other animals and so far want to chase his tail, play with the cats and possibly chase the chickens. The chicken chasing keeps getting interrupted by the pesky tail that seems to follow him.

Last night he only got up 3 times and with a total of about 10 minutes... read more

For those of you who know us you may groan, "Just what they need ANOTHER animal!" Well it is true, our family has not felt complete since the loss of Kai earlier this year. Today we met and held our new family member as yet unamed. One of the black butts you see here is the future Bean Clan member, we will know more in 2 weeks when we get to visit again. He will come home around May 28th. We can not wait as our home has felt a bit empty without the presence of a dog. It has been almost ... read more
