What I dig most about Justin is that he challenges my mind. When I try to figure out the world by asking "Why?" questions, Dr. J reminds me "Why not?" He is subtle in the words he chooses as to provoke new avenues of thought that those close to him are happy to explore and come up with their own conclusions. Sometimes, I think of him as a traveler of innerspace that place where our thoughts, emotions, and beliefs exist. Justin is a friend that I always enjoy exchanging ideas with, even if I have to bring a dictionary with me in order to keep up his vocabulary! The good Dr. J is a "Renaissance Man for the 21st century".

I once had a guru-teacher man named Akasa. Akasa was a somewhat burned out hippie tramp of a man who said a lot of profound things despite himself. He started a men's group and I think he called it "Yeowling Coyote Men's Group" or something totally pathetic and appropriate and actually beautiful like that. I participated in that group for about three years. During one session of combo post-modern Passover Seder and Tibetan Buddhist Vajirayana initiation ritual ... read more
(I... or that which is "otherwise"...) ...Have been spending time contemplating the universe as energy. Energy uses information as a structure to flow through, but information is already structure, rigidified and segmented; information is codification, regulation of flow of desire/meaning.

God made this Elephant. Then it was delicate and small It was not freakish at all Or melancholy The Hyenas sang in the scrub You are beautiful-- They showed their scorched heads and grinning expressions Like the half-rotted stumps of amputations-- We envy your grace Waltzing through the thorny growth O take us with you to the Land of Peaceful O ageless eyes, of innocence and kindliness Lift us from the furnaces And furies of our blackened faces Within these h... read more

Vakratundaya Dimahi Tano Danti Prachodayata! See also the following link for cool info! www.narayanipeedam.org/Mantras.htm Once I heard a story of the divine family at supper. Under the supper table Ganesha's loyal courrier, the mouse, found some crumbs. His brother Skandha's animal, a peacock, spies the crumbs as well and begins to fight the rat for dominion of the crumbs. Parvati's royal animal is a tiger who jumps into the fray of squawking and squea... read more

And old men with broken teeth stranded without love. Do I understand your question, man, is it hopeless and forlorn? "Come in," she said, "I'll give you shelter from the storm." (Bob Dylan) It is not yet... It's not yet full when we say this or that. Anything that is too beautiful swerves from ready grasp, falls into cliche, the grip of the dust. And yet full or empty does not matter, its simply "not yet...." Yet there is beaut... read more
