      <description>&lt;div&gt;If you are coming and need the address- please contact me via Email or send me a message on tribe, or call a fellow OK  who has access to the site......  I will be out of pone range and Email after 4pm 7/3.&#xD;
&#xD;
Time: Thursday July 3rd 5pm until Sunday July 6th 5 pm &#xD;
&#xD;
Meals: First Group meal is Friday Morning Breakfast. There is no food provided on Thursday, so grab a bite on the way up or bring your own snacks. &#xD;
&#xD;
Beverages: BYOB. We have room in the budget for a Keg for Sunday morning, but that’s it. Please bring the fixins for your favorite beverage to share. Kendall has volunteered to tend bar for the pool party, but he won’t have much to do if you don’t bring booze! Suggested donation to the cause is a 1.75 liter bottle of your favorite spirit or a case of beer. Don’t forget the mixers! &#xD;
&#xD;
BYOB also covers your own sodas, energy drinks, EmergenC etc.... We only have budget for drink mixes, coffee and bottles of water for the party. &#xD;
&#xD;
What to Bring: This is a kids summer camp. Meals, cabins with bunk beds and bathrooms are provided. All you need to bring is the following. &#xD;
&#xD;
•	Clothes- talked to Tony today, it is about 78 during the day and 60 at night, but this is the mountains- so plan accordingly &#xD;
•	Sleeping bag or twin sheets and blankets &#xD;
•	Swim Suit – there is a huge pool! &#xD;
•	Towel &#xD;
•	Toiletries &#xD;
•	Sun screen &#xD;
•	Bug spray &#xD;
•	Reusable Water container ( we will have a limited supply for Sat night)- The water out of the tap is the same as what is in Arrowhead bottles- besides, do we really need to waste that much plastic? &#xD;
•	If you smoke- cigarettes (extra to share- you know how it goes), and pocket ashtray &#xD;
•	Board games or DVD’s for Friday night &#xD;
•	Pool toys &#xD;
•	Camp chairs for pool side lounging/ crackout &#xD;
•	Did I mention booze? &#xD;
•	Camera &#xD;
•	Glow toys &#xD;
•	Decorations for your cabin- lights etc. &#xD;
•	Head Lamp or Flashlight &#xD;
&#xD;
Just added If you have an extra to spare- help the sound and Deco crew out and bring: &#xD;
• Power Strips and Extension cords- please mark your name clearly on your gear so we get it back to the right owners, even in our cracked out state. &#xD;
What not to Bring: &#xD;
•	Fire Toys- there are no outdoor fires permitted this year due to high fire danger &#xD;
•	Pets- No pets allowed, no exceptions. This is for the safety of your loved one. The camp has been very lenient with us on all of the other rules- please respect this one rule they are not allowing us to break. &#xD;
•	A bad attitude- check it at the door and be willing to chip in when help is needed! &#xD;
&#xD;
Things to Remember: &#xD;
•	We are guests of Camp Nawakwa. Tony, our Camp Host, is awesome, but don’t take his hospitality for granted. If he asks you to do something, or stop doing something, listen to him. We are lucky to have found a place that lets us get away with the shit that we pull. Don’t take that for granted. Offer him a drink or a smoke when you see him. I know it will be appreciated. &#xD;
&#xD;
•	Please keep your Cabin doors and Car windows closed. According to Tony the squirrels up there are mighty curious and get into everything. He said he found one in the cab of his truck that had hitched a ride. It caused quite a ruckus as he tried to drive down the hill... you've been warned. &#xD;
&#xD;
•	Remember, we are camping in the woods, not your backyard. There are wild animals. If you bring up food, make sure to put it in the fridge in the mess hall or in your locked car. Don’t leave it outside where it may attract curious bears. &#xD;
&#xD;
•	Please park your cars so that they are facing out towards the road, and make sure that the main road is not blocked. Tony has requested that all cars be backed in so that people can get out quickly in case of an emergency. We will have someone directing parking to help keep things organized. Please carpool if possible to help keep parking simple. &#xD;
&#xD;
&#xD;
Cabins are first come first served, except for those who purchased presale tickets. The cabins for those folks will be clearly marked. If you didn't buy a presale ticket- please don't try to take one of the semi private cabin slots. The people who bought their tickets in January and covered the cost of the deposit deserve the space they paid for. &#xD;
&#xD;
OK I think that is it. Please check back before you leave for camp for updates &#xD;
&#xD;
See you there!&#xD;

      <title>Jury duty</title>
      <link>http://people.tribe.net/k-kat/blog/86587427-cdb0-4ac2-a569-8c812584ce27</link>
      <description>&lt;div&gt;Well, it's finally over. &#xD;
Jury Duty for the Los Angeles County Criminal Court system&#xD;
&#xD;
1 day of sitting around balancing the line between extreme boredom and shear dread of  having your name called&#xD;
1 day being asked questions to determine your ability to make a "fair and impartial" judgment on another persons actions &#xD;
6 days of questionable testimony given by gang members and terrified witnesses, presided over by an a seemingly incompetent defense attorney and a Dominatrix like  DA&#xD;
and &#xD;
2 full eight hour  days of deliberations  that had to be started over from scratch 3 times due to jurors being excused due to vacation plans and alternates taking their place&#xD;
&#xD;
As I was waiting to be sworn in, I had a horrible nervous reaction.   My arms broke out in hives, my muscles ached, and I was on the verge of tears.  I was a wreck.... I kept thinking to myself, who am I to pass judgment on someone else?&#xD;
&#xD;
Today, as the verdict was read Guilty on all 3 counts, I did break into tears.  This time it wasn't because I felt bad for the defendant, or because I had a guilty conscious for judging someone else.  Mine were tears of realization and relief.    The person before me was guilty and we as a jury  had worked  hard to come to the right decision.   We convicted a man who had killed two people and terrorized his community.   &#xD;
&#xD;
The one  person who came forward with information still lives at the location where the murders took place.  She was brave enough to give statements and testify,  though her safety was, and still is on the line.  Before the verdict was read I said a prayer for her continued safety, and for myself, that if faced with a similar situation, I would have the strength to do as she had.&#xD;
&#xD;
I'm not sure if I ever want to go through Jury Duty again, but I am glad that I did.   I learned first hand how the legal system works, and more importantly, I gained valuable knowledge of myself.&#xD;
&#xD;
If you ever get called to be a perspective juror, take the job seriously, and on a funny note- make sure you don't make the same mistake this guy did.......&#xD;
