I swear I didn't make them say this

August 6, 2007
Kadri was my port in the storm... when my last boat "sank" , I sent one e-mail.... and was told to come join her intermediate class. That intermediate class is now one of the best group of people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting, much less dancing with, all beacuse she saw something i didn't know I had. Kadri gives from her center of being, and I love that. She'll also make you work harder than you knew you could... Thanks for that... really...

Kadri...

To be honest, when I try put what I feel in my heart, into words (especially a bunch of typed up words), I wind up pretty speechless. Which is rare for me (being speechless... ha!). There's so much I want to say to you, and so many things I want to thank you for... that I don't even know where a rational place to start is. So, I'll say this:

Thank you for accepting me... unconditionally. Thank you for respecting me, teaching me (oh so very patiently, too), making me laugh, making me feel at ease. Thank you for having faith in me. Thank you for being professional, balanced and dedicated. Thank you SHOWING me that now, I am right where I belong. Thank you... for your wisdom, your compassion, your tolerance, and above all else... for your ability to be both a teacher, and a friend... which is something not many can do. You have skills that some will never learn in one lifetime. And, you are Blessed by the Light, and the Fae.

Being able to dance beside you, and all the other talented, magical, and beautiful ladies of Heartbeat, makes me feel like I (really do) have wings. Being able to dance *with* you all... makes me feel like I can fly. You, and your entire studio, are alive with the true spirit that *IS* the dance... and being around it is like nothing in the world. I look forward to a future that will include you in many wonderful aspects, Miss Mab :)

Brightest Blessings...
Leslie

PS: I want to be SURE to share this with you...

"Danse de Vie"

The calm and quiet shore was kissed
In sleepy, shrouding evening mist
And as I walked there near the sea
A gentle voice did call to me... "Come join me in the dance."

I wandered from the quiet shore
In the emerald mist of the forest floor
And as gentle rain began to fall
Once again I heard her call... "Come join me in the dance."

I came upon a rocky nave
And there inside this hidden cave
Were a thousand candles and sparkling eyes
As blue as summer's cloudless skies
I saw a maiden standing there
With azure eyes and skin so fair
Such beauty took my breath away
And once again I heard her say... "Come join me in the dance".

For too long I listened to the wrong song telling me to avoid this group, in the end, I found I was the one in the wrong group, missing out on a wonderful circle of dancers and people...

I have found a home here with these wonderful women..do not let ANYONE tell you who is good/bad-take the time to make YOUR OWN decision...

Kim/Kadri is an amazing selfless person and an even greater dancer and teacher, her students look up to her and her troupe treats each other with love and respect..they work together as a team and when they dance together, you can SEE how hard they work to get it just right..their technique is amazingly PERFECT! thank you Kadri for inspiring everyone around you..and for standing up for what is right.

Kadri has been my tribal teacher for about 7 months now and I've never been happier. I had no idea that the day I walked into her studio would change my life. She is truely amazing. When I watch her, I wonder why she would stick around a teeny tiny city like Buffalo, NY when she could be with any dance troupe she wants....she's that amazing!! But I know that she loves what she does. Every class is wonderful and she knows.....it will take something pretty crazy to keep me away from her class. If you have ever seen her perform in or out of the studio, you know what she's all about. I'm one lucky gal to have her as one of my teachers and she has made my life much better because of it. She's beautiful and silly and wonderful. Lucky me!!!

The only reason I started bellydancing is because of this amazing woman. She is crazy, dorky, divine, sexy, and talented! She has a fire in her heart, and I am glad to be warmed by it. I truly am in her debt for sharing this with me.

Don't know why.... (blog entry) ...I wake up with songs in my head but I do, and they are usually weird ones I haven't heard for a while.

Today's song:

Turn on your Heartlight - Neil Diamond

Your welcome to anyone else that gets this stuck in their head!

If you really want to know

We have a new big accomplishment in the house that we can be both proud and scared of!!!

Keegan is walking!!!!

She took her first tentative steps a couple of weeks ago and since then has had the quickest learning curve that I've ever seen anywhere!!!! She walks from one end of the house to the other, picking up little things as she goes and sometimes ends up going backwards a little if momentum is not on her side. There have been lots of "booms" when she falls down on her butt and a... read more

Because of the fact that I've been married before and Keith has always said he's ready anytime and it would be up to me to say when, I figured that his birthday would be as good a time as any and his birthday was on 12/30.

We went to Bravo, where our friend Kim manages (and has the world's best cheesecake) and we met Miss Nola who had graciousl... read more
