Kaihea is a fusion bellydancer and fire performer in the Washington D.C. area who has has been battling ovarian cancer for a couple of years now. With a surgery, a complete hysterectomy and chemo behind her, she was declared cancer free. But, the cancer has shown up again. Now, in another round of chemo and more surgery looming, the fight is still going strong.

Kaihea has friends all over the globe. She is a generous and kind person whose talents go far beyond dance. And because she spreads so much love and warmth, we feel compelled to do the same in return.

Please help us help Kaihea with her finances and in lifting her spirit even higher. Join us for a wonderful evening of dance, music and celebration of life.

Thank you.

I decided to join the premium tribe membership thing to see if my little $5/month can help keep this awesome network afloat. I figure I can go without one grande vanilla soy latte a month to help a group of people keep this nifty social network online! :) Hopefully the experiment works!!

(reposted from the Kaihea Healing & Support tribe)

The current chemotherapy isn't working after all. I got a call from my doctor's office today and the nurse told me that my bloodwork indicated that the chemo isn't doing the job. This means that I will be switching chemotherapies right before Burning Man...in the next week or so.

I will be more tired, more nauseous and my hair will fall out again.

I'm scared and starting to feel like crawling into a little corner. I apologize in advance to all of you folks out there for not replying to emails, phone calls and text messages. I do sincerely appreciate your support and love...just sometimes I don't want to drag others down with me.

Also, I may not be able to work and I'm not sure how much more short-term disability my job offers, so I may have to start some kind of "help Kaihea pay her medical bills" foundation or something. Keep on the look-out for more info, if you're inclined to assist. I might be selling some Melodia pants to sweeten the deal...*gasp*...

Inspired by Urvashi's posting about her new tattoo's progress, I went looking for the web site of the tattoo artist who fixed my back tattoo, Paul Roe. I really want him to work with me when Silver Raven & I get the design ready for my winged lioness.

In browsing his web site, which has *amazing* color work by the way, I found that he had posted his work with my back tattoo as an example of what he can do to "fix" a tattoo. Check it out:
http://www.britishinkdc.com/paul_cover_celtic_rework_tattoo.html

Oh, and it seems that he has opened a shop on H Street! Yay! :) Paul Roe is awesome. I am so glad that he's got a shop now! If anyone ever needs a recommendation for an incredible tattoo artist, this is the guy.

IKEA king size bed up for grabs...

So, I'm moving this weekend and have decided not to bring my king size bed & frame with me. The frame is the Hopen style from IKEA with the dark wood. It has a small crack in one of the support pieces on the right side that can be easily held up by a cinder block (right now a bunch of, um, role playing books are performing that function)...the mattress is the foam body-hugging style, firm, and in great shape. I just don't have the space for this thing anymore!

I am moving out of an apartment just off of 395 S at the King Street (west) exit. If anyone wants this bed (mattress + frame), please let me know! All I ask is that you come and pick it up by 4pm on the 27th - this Sunday.

If you're interested in it and don't have the means to pick it up, I *might* be able to get it to you. Send me a note and we can discuss...

Anyway, if none of you guys want this giant bed, I'm gonna take it to Goodwill. :)
