take a moment to send love and healing to those in Gustav's path

<div>As you come back...to the work week from Labor Day Weekend. I invite you to bring your attention to your heart. Bring to mind something you love, whether its the fresh memory of the playa, the stranded party, or something fun you did this week, or even all the way back to something you loved as a child. This opens your heart. Take a moment to receive love and allow your heart to fill. From here take a moment to send your love to those in Gustav's path from the Carribean to Louisiana. Send your healing intentions and see your love surrounding, protecting and healing all those it touches.

I invite you to open your heart and join me for Heart Healing this Wednesday at our Chakracize Meetup. http://alternative.meetup.com/650/calendar/8497532/

We'll be doing a heart meditation for healing both for ourselves and for those in Gustav's path from the Caribbean to Louisiana.

The video is from my teacher Anodea Judith's Illuminated Chakras Video. She is one of the foremost authorities on the chakras and the founder of Sacred Centers, through which I am certified as a chakra healer. I'll be assisting her body-mind integration class at Kripalu next month. www.sacredcenters.com

<div>Happy Valentines Day!

Here's my favorite poem I'd like to share with you.
I invite you to dedicate yourself to love today and everyday.
Above all things I do believe in love and these words speak deeply to me.

wishing you much love
Kiana Love

ps here some more love stuff I wrote a while back... hope you enjoy
love will shine today www.sunrisevalentine.com

Dedication to Love

From the core of our hearts
We dedicate ourselves
To the complete and full
Expression of Love
In our activities
And in our relationships

Love is the soul's medicine,
A refuge in our hearts
Protecting us from utter despair.
Finding compassion in the eyes
Of the beloved and the stranger
Gives us the courage to endure.

May love sensitize us
With care and wisdom.
May love help heal the sickness
And wounds of life.
May love enable us
To forgive and accept ourselves.

May love enable us
To forgive and accept each other.
May love help us overcome
Our cruelty and bitterness,
Our greed and jealousy,
Our ignorance and delusion.

May love rule our hearts and minds,
Directing us to reach out,
Doing our best to benefit others,
To comfort suffering, to give gifts,
To create beauty in the infinite network
That is our world.

A heart of loving kindness
Pours creative grace into the world,
Dissolving our separateness
And mending the heart net.
To the healing art of love
We dedicate ourselves

<div>Tonites full moon is indeed a time of celebration.. Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza, and Yule are some of the spiritual traditions celebrated at this time. Tonite is the Winter Solstice. This marks the sun's return to the northern hemisphere, the promise of summer and rebirth. Come on the darkest night of the year and welcome the sun back. Take a moment to listen deeply to the silence in dark of winter. Breathe, and listen, to your heart beat. Listen to the beat of the planet, Mother Earth. Come celebrate the gift of life tonite. Lets drum life's beat with our hands on the drum, with our feet on the ground....and listen to the heart beat.
Bring the seeds of your intentions prayers and dreams and lets be the bearers of good tidings this season.

I'll be sharing a heartlink meditation at the end of the full moon program and taking a moment at the beginning of the drum and dance to set intention and to listen to the heart.

Thankful my Mom"s surgery went well and I fell better.

<div>My Mom's surgery went well. She had great care and so much support. She is in the hospital where she works, she's a nurse anesthetist, and there were so many nurse and doctors wishing her well. We are very lucky to have such amazing support. I am beyond grateful. I got to do energy work and reflexology on her while she was recoving . She stood up and I walked with her yesterday before I left for the airport. We cheered her on as she made one lap around the nurses station. She was wearing some cute pjs and sitting in a chair when I left. I'm so glad I was able to go and be there for her. It meant the world to her to have us all there. I am so grateful for all of your support and prayers too.

I have to confess though I was relieved to come back home last night. The moment I got to Texas I started to get a pain in my back shoulder and arm, which I knew was stress related. It got progressiviely worse until it was excruciating last night. I couldn't wait to get into my office to see Lou, the chiropractor I work with. He does these amazing muscle release techniques. Sure enough I had suspected it was a pinched nerve. So I took time today to also nurture myself. I released ,along with the physical pain, a good amount of stored grief. My grandmother had passed away from cancer, colon and stomach when I was 16.

I thought when I went to Texas that I was well prepared, took flower essences, had a colonic, an adjustment , slept well, and nourished myself well. The body needs such tender loving care. This means listening to the body's needs in the moment, and an awareness that it is constantly changing...and bringing us lessons and gifts.
I learned more about how I hold stress, and had the gift of releasing old grief and fear from more than 20 years ago.

I am at this moment very aware of what a precious gift health is. I want to bring this awareness into all my interactions, to listen and care deeply. starting with nurturing myself. I invite you to listen and care deeply
love,

<div>My Mom's having surgery in the morning...9:30 central time.. that means 10:30 on the east coast. would appreciate any love and light sent her way. Please imagine her completely healed. She's peacefully sleeping at the moment. We spent a very nice family day today. Celebrated Christmas early since i won't be here then. this made my Mom very happy. We decorated the christmas tree and living room, watched football and exchanged presents. We got phone calls throughout the day from supportive friends and family.

I find myself very appreciative at this time for many reasons. That I was able to come and spend time with my mom. That we got to have a wonderful family day. that I have such supportive friends and extended family in my life. That I can use my healing skills to help my mom. for my family, for my partner Billy who's in NY watching Zach, and for my Mom.
now its time for sleep.

<div>Hi I'm practicing what I "preach" . I encourage people to reach out for the support they need. To become better receivers of healing. From a place of fullness it is much easier to reach out and support others.
so I'm putting it out there that I could use support from my community.

I just found out my mother has colon cancer, and will have surgery on monday morning to remove a malignant growth. Please send healing energy and prayers. Her name is Dalisay Meinecke. She lives in Texas, and I'm still figuring out if I can be there. If not I'll be here sending my prayers and energy too.

Also if anyone is around tomorrow nite for the Healing Circle of Love , tomorrow night we will be focusing energy and prayer for her as well as our own and anyone else you might wish us to send healing energy to. We will be doing a Kava ceremony with Shamanic Drumming.
much love and gratitude

<div>Its monday and I'm thankful for this good day.
I've been thinking all weekend, as I've been cultivating thankfulness in my life. Wanting to remember to be kind, to be thankful, to inspire and be inspired by those I touch each day, not just on thanksgiving. I was sent this amazing video that sums it all up.

http://www.youtube.com/gratefulness

While researching for my healing circle this month I found the world kindness day and a thankful card project to share. The project then evolved into thankful prayer flags that decorated the drum and dance at the full moon gathering Sat. night Alex Grey's Chapel of the Sacred Mirrors. my birthday on saturday and all of you that contributed to the thankful project. It was such a joy to see it unfold. A big thanks to grandspace for their joyous thanksgiving celebration and all those there who created a flag in tribute to something or someone they are thankful for.
I have so much to be thankful for today. For a wonderful thanksgiving celebration, for my one year anniversary on friday, for ecstatic drumming and dancing at the full moon Saturday, (my birthday). Thankyou for your dancing, drumming, and especially your help setting up and breaking down. I am grateful for this day and for every one of you.... for your presence in my life.

Its a good day

wishing you a good day everyday

gratefully yours

Commit Random acts of Kindness Today! Its World Kindness Day!

<div>Its World Kindness Day!
Celebrate it with random acts of kindness. There are actually 16 Days of Kindness, starting on the 6th of November. 16 opportunities to practice kindness and make it a habit. Just a simple smile or kind word can make all the difference to someone....and its contagious too. Why not start today! who would like to do 16 days of kindness with me?
See below for much more about the world kindness movement.
much love
Kiana

Come make kindness cards with us tomorrow night for those who've been kind to us and those in need,
at my Healing Circle of Love (8-10 pm at www.grandspace.com..or see tribe calendar)

"World Kindness Day is the beginning of a global reaction to the exploitation of our human and natural resources. It could be said that the slogan for World Kindness Day might well be "Healing the World!" – and in doing so, there is the possibility of creating something so intrinsically good and wholesome, that the beneficial effects could be virtually endless."
"
The World Kindness Movement has been growing quickly since 1996 when it was born out of a series of international conferences held in Japan. Each participating country has formed its own national kindness organization. The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation,

he Random Acts of Kindness Foundation, USA offers a website full of school and community resources: "activity ideas, lesson plans, project plans, teacher's guide, project planning guide, publicity guide, and workplace resources." Click here today to see how you can spread kindness in your world. http://www.actsofkindness.org/

"The purpose of World Kindness Day is to look beyond ourselves, beyond the boundaries of our country, beyond our culture, our race, our religion; and realise we are citizens of the world. As world citizens we have a commonality, and must realise that if progress is to be made in human relations and endeavours, if we are to achieve the goal of peaceful coexistence, we must focus on what we have in common. When we find likenesses we begin to experience empathy, and in such a state we can fully relate to that person or those people.

If we were to ask ourselves on a regular basis, "Is what I am involved in at this moment promoting joining or separation?", it would remind us of our commitment to kindness. All it requires is remembering. If our memory is not the best, small signs can be created and posted about the home and work environment. Simple solutions are workable solutions. Simple solutions to promote joining, working away at our goal for world peace with little acts of kindness, helping to break down the walls that separate races, religions, cultures. Helping our global brothers and sisters.

Joseph Campbell tells us, "People say that what we’re all seeking is a meaning for life. I don’t think that’s what we’re really seeking. I think that what we’re seeking is an experience of being alive, so that our life experiences on the purely physical plane will have resonances within our own innermost being and reality, so that we actually feel the rapture of being alive." The ‘rapture of being alive’ is truly a wonderful expression, don’t you think? Such raptures give real purpose to our lives. When we carry out an act of kindness it creates a good feeling within us, which surely could be termed as one of the raptures of being alive.

We may be proud of our country, but if we think of ourselves as citizens of a country, it can become easy to distance ourselves from the misery taking place in other parts of the world. The basic principle of kindness is in joining, in acknowledging that we have a connection with every living thing on this wonderful planet of ours. As our kind acts and deeds bring greater kindness to the world, the barriers of separation will begin to crumble, bringing a rainbow of understanding and happiness to the people of the excerpts from world.'""http://www.kindness.com.au/

"Kindness is an expression of our truth. And when we express kindness, we have victory over our own wounded past of unkindness shown to us. And if we allow our kindness to expand, it gives us victory over our world."
Saleem Rana

16 days of kindness

Our November celebration, encompassing sixteen days of kindness, gives you the opportunity to fine tune your skills in this area. It will also give you a glimpse of what a simple, happy, peaceful, safe, community orientated (as well as rewarding, fulfilling, and so on) future is like. If this is the future you desire, we give you sixteen days to practise, after which you can go off and fulfil your destiny - that of making yourself, and others, happy. And if you ever need a refresher course, there's one in November every year.

Kindness is a very personal thing, it is a "heart to heart" experience. And the more personal and spontaneous your kindness becomes, the greater the positive effect on both you and the receiver of your kindness. Planned acts of kindness tend by their very nature to be contrived, but are necessary to develop the conscious response into a habit. In the "16 Days of Kindness" celebration we give you sixteen themes to plan your kindness around. After these sixteen days you will find your kindness has become more habitual and spontaneous, and personally more rewarding. If you can involve a friend or friends to assist you, the positive effect will be even greater. You will find it not only rewarding, but also empowering.

The first day - 6th November - *Australia's National Kindness Day. This day has been created to express the pride of living in Australia, and to celebrate our national identity, which has become wonderfully diverse through the assimilation of the many cultures that are now part of our society. It is also an opportunity to express the ANZAC spirit of 'doing the right thing', regardless of the odds or fears.

The second day - 7th November - Good Neighbour Day. This gives you the opportunity to interact with the neighbours and the neighbourhood. Getting to know and react with the people who live in your neighbourhood, and being involved in small acts of kindness toward your community.

The third day - 8th November - My Day. A day to be kind to yourself, to pamper yourself. Who else is more deserving than you?

The fourth day - 9th November - Special People's Day. A day to acknowledge the special people in your life - loved ones and friends, as well as those who have made a positive impact upon your life.

The fifth day - 10th November - Work Day. A day to be kinder to your boss, your friends and associates at work, and also your customers and suppliers.

The sixth day - 11th November - Teacher's Day. A day to honour our children's educators, to acknowledge their dedication and hard work.

The seventh day - 12th November - Youth's Day. A day to honour youth, a day to concentrate on their many positive aspects such as their energy, creativity, their honesty of expression, and their idealistic endeavours to right the wrongs of the world.

The eighth day - 13th November - *World Kindness Day. A day to celebrate your role as a world citizen, a member of the global village, to discover the many similarities between yourself and people of different nations and cultures.

The ninth day - 14th November - Stop and Smell the Flowers Day. A day to consciously step off the whirling merry-go-round of life, to practise being in the moment, or mindfulness. This allows you to appreciate the myriad of precious moments you miss by your rush to be somewhere else.

The tenth day - 15th November - The Environment's Day. A day for the environment, our eco system. An opportunity to support and give back to the environment, helping to reverse the trend of taking, destroying, and abusing.

The eleventh day - 16th November - *International Day of Tolerance. An opportunity to acknowledge all you meet, of giving people a 'fair go'. A day to tear down the walls that separate, and build bridges that join. A day to make a resolution to practice tolerance in every facet of your life. A day to do more than tolerate others, but to accept them with open arms.

The twelfth day - 17th November - Inner Peace Day. A good day to follow the International Day of Tolerance. World peace depends on peaceful co-existence, which is accepting others who we might perceive to be 'different' from us in some way - in race, religion, culture, and so on. We have inherited prejudices that are not based on fact, and these separate us from others. As long as these prejudices continue to exist, there will never be global peace. There is also another factor, and that has been identified by the Dalai Lama: "Without inner peace, it is impossible to have world peace."

The thirteenth day - 18th November - Forgiveness Day. A day to forgive and mend any squabbles and misunderstandings, a day to right past wrongs. Both to and from ourselves, groups, and nations.

The fourteenth day - 19th November - Senior's Day. A day to honour senior citizens, who represent the past, and who display the wisdom that age bestows upon people. There is a huge pool of experience and wisdom amongst seniors that has yet to be used to the best advantage.

The fifteenth day - 20th November - *National Children's Day. A day to honour children, who represent the future. A day to begin nurturing their kindness to ensure they will mature to be caring and responsible adults.

The sixteenth day - 21st November - Health Care People's Day. A day to give thanks to those in the caring professions - nurses, doctors, practitioners of all kinds, ambulance officers, carers and so on.

Luck was had by all that attended the water frolic. I want to thank everyone for making it a spectacular splash, for all the wonderful energy and fantastic pool-faring costumes. What a delicious pleasure to be in a room with such enchanting goddesses being honoured and adored by dashing merman. The evening was full of exciting suprises and a magical whirlwind took us all by suprise. While we were delighted and awash with pleasure, the Puja also was diverted by the wave of bliss. Pleasurable ahhs and loving embraces were brought forth. For those of you still wishing for a puja you are still in luck. We invite you to take a peak at our upcoming events. We will be having a pujalicious mid-summer nights dream at the love residence June 7th. For more splish-splashing we will be taking a wild escapade to the mermaid parade June 23rd. In the meantime Teeni Dakini our Puja Goddess has some wonderful classes for men and women. Learn how to create pleasurable sacred space for yourself and with a beloved. You can check out her full calender at www.teenidakinin.com. Also there is a suprise visit next month by my friend Sylvia Brailler, founder of Tantric Shamanism School. Save the dates.
Get Lucky on Friday the 13th

<div>
Friday the 13th is the day for love, sex, and getting lucky. Only in Christian tradtion does Friday the 13th begin to have negitive connotations. The Romans dedicated Friday to the worship of Venus, the goddess of love and sex. When the Norse adopted the Roman calendar, they named Friday after Friga, the goddess of marriage. Eventually friday was associated with Freya, the german goddess of love. This makes Friday a day to celebrate union, both physical and spiritual.

Long before the christian era, Friday was considered an important day. Primitive people set aside Fridays as a special time to worship their deities, asking them for good crops, health and happiness.

A bakers dozen means you get thirteen bagels, cookies, etc

In China, 13 is considered a lucky number, it also means alive in chinese.

In Jewish tradtion, 13 is assiociated with the rites of passage (barmitvah and batmitvah.)

In The Luck Factor, author Richard Wiseman writes: "Lucky people generate their own good fortune via four basic principles. They are skilled at creating and noticing chance opportunities, make lucky decisions by listing to their intuition, create self-fulfilling prophesies via positive expectation, and adopt a resilient attitude that transform bad luck into good."

So I invite you on this Friday the 13th to recognize the wildness of luck and invoke your own. Dispel negative superstitions and beliefs and replace them with positive expectations. Join Be Wild at QT this Friday the 13th and get lucky. For more info go to www.bewildwoman.com

Look out St Patrick! The snakes are back..untamed

<div>St Patrick's Day, meant to be a celebration for all Irish, is plagued with devisiveness here in NYC, the parade exluding people because of their beliefs and way of life. The life of a spiritual man on a mission to drive the snakes, the pagans from Ireland, is celebrated with wild drunken revelry and many incapacitated intoxicated celebrants in the streets.
As an alternative on Sunday we will be offering an alternative celebration, celebrating the return of the snakes, the pagan, the authentic wildness.
By authentic wildness I mean a return to nature, ones natural instincts within a natural world. Authentic wildness can be seen in a blade of grass, a flower, and the forces of nature, where life unfolds acording to an internal plan, dna, within a natural world. A flower does not wait for anyone's approval or permission to grow, yet it grows in harmony with its environment. Likewise we can shed the expectations and demands our culture and society places upon us and start to listen to that knowing inner voice. We can start to listen to that inner voice that guides us to be true to ourselves and to our relationships with the world around us, to our loved ones, and our community; local and global. I invite you to take some time this holiday to listen to your inner voice with us as we explore on Sunday, or on your own. Authentic wildness lives within you.
St Patrick is celebrating for driving the snakes from England. The snakes are a symbol of the druids, the pagans that he drove from Ireland, converting the island from pagan to christian. Patrick was on a spiritual mission to rid Ireland of the snakes, the pagans, by what ever means necessary. Much of his drive for doing so came from being captured and ensalved for six years by the pagans. The pagans believers of a earth based religions were the primary inhabitants of Ireland He did keep many of the pagan traditions and symbols, such as bonfires and the celtic cross in order to entice the pagans into christianity making it more palatable.
I suggest a return to a more authentic wildness. Instead of a covering up to make it more palatable or a unnatural imposition to conform, lets return to a natural knowingness and looking within. When one takes the time to look within and trusts what one sees, one uncovers the truth. I invite you to uncover your truth, your authentic wildness

MANIFESTATION THROUGH THE CHAKRAS:
Turning Your Dreams Into Realities

A workshop with
Anodea Judith and Lion Goodman

Do you want to manifest the dreams you have for your life?
Would you like a step-by-step method for staying on track?
Would you like to accomplish everything you dream of?
Are you ready to commit to creating your dream life?

Anodea and Lion have brought this powerful workshop to students in Holland, England, Costa Rica, the East Coast, and Marin, receiving rave reviews from every attendee.

MANIFESTATION is the process of bringing your vision into focus, then taking appropriate and effective actions that will turn your dreams into realities. It is a practical, step-by-step procedure of moving your attention and energies down through the chakras – seven stages of concentration and condensation from thought into physical reality.

Learn practical techniques that you can apply throughout your life. Revitalize your mind, body, and spirit with this amazing workshop that combines chakra technology, powerful personal growth techniques, mentoring for your personal life vision, and exciting friends and co-creators.

Learn how to work with the Manifestation Current of the Chakras, from top down:

7) Expand your consciousness and discover your life purpose
6) Open to your fondest dreams and clarify your vision
5) Express your passion and your purpose articulately
4) Inspire others with your dreams through cultivating co-creative relationships
3) Empower your intentions and build a step-by-step plan
2) Clarify your needs and make specific requests
1) Create a solid plan for completion and take each step, one at a time.

Obstacles happen. If there were no obstacles in life, we could immediately manifest whatever we wanted. Obstacles and barriers (such as limiting beliefs, self-doubts, self-criticism, judgments, distractions, resistance, and difficulties keeping commitments) are a normal part of the creation process. We teach exciting and creative ways to clear away the obstacles and barriers that inevitably come up – so they don't stop us or prevent us from manifesting what we want.
You will learn these practical techniques for handling obstacles:

• Eliminate old beliefs in The Belief Closet
• Plant the seeds of your heart's desire with the Kalpataru Meditation
• Plan by Remembering Your Way Back from the Future
• Unleash internal conflict by Amplifying Internal Voices
• Disappear uncomfortable feelings through Sensation Focusing
• Dance the manifestation current down from Heaven to Earth
• Get things done through Effective Communication for Action
• Create support by forming a Dream Team
• Transform your life by Completing Incomplete Cycles

<div>Hi I've just made the big leap to pursue my dream full-time.

Although many of you know me in relationship to the Be Wild Woman group, I have been studying and pursuing my career in the holistic healing arts for many years. My practice consists of a variety of modalities, including reflexology, energy work, bioenergetics, holistic health counseling. What I love about my work is supporting people in healing and enriching their lives. For me there is nothing more rewarding then having someone stressed out come into my office and then leave so relaxed they feel like they are walking on air.

I have been trying to establish my private practice for a few years while working at night to pay the bills and fund my dream. Working at night at a job I hate has however taken up so much of my energy that very little has been left to build my business. Finally I have had enough and can both no longer stand my night job and no longer wait to make my dream happen. So now that I've quit my night job I'm happy but broke for christmas and am asking for your support.

as the sun rises love will shine today

<div>II went back to burning man again this year and I'd like to share with you my most magical memorable moments of sunrise in the desert.....on the playa, at burning man, a celebration of radical creative self-expression out in the desert outside or reno nevada, that brings people from around the world together for a week to create a temporary community and then dismantle it leaving a pristine landscape with no trace.

Here I was able to take what has always been a magical moment for me, the sunrise, which I've often personally experienced as blissful while dancing the sun up at drum circles, and turn it into a creative experience to share not only with those around me in that moment but also beyond when we come back from the adventure...in our day to day lives, and even with those not in the middle of the moment to bring them a glimmer of the light.

I've turned this moment into a valentine to share and profess my love of the sunrise, life, people, and the world around me. Love is the most powerful thing I've found, it has changed my life profoundly and its something I'd like to share and spread knowing that it will affect people's lives in wonderful ways.

At burning man people are wildly creative, taking their ideas and visions and turning them into reality, a costume, a sculpure, a happening. When I went last year for the first time, while searching for my playa name, a creative name you acquire, I had the epiphany that the sunrise is my valentine. For me the sun that begins to rise inevitably out of the dark is just like love which is already there and when it begins to shine out of your heart changes everything.

Well this is the closest I can get to describing how I feel about it. Actually when I'm in the moment dancing at sunrise, I am not actually thinking at all, I'm in the moment, in the now, and so filled with joy and love that I do feel I could almost fly, drunk with love, like I have a fountain full of love inside me that is bubbling over, that must be shared. It is so easy in this moment to see people, to love them, no fear, insecurity, walls up to protect me. In this moment all is clear, love is definitely the ticket. In this moment I know love is real and I want you to feel it too.

So I thought about this through the year wondering how to share this moment with people this year at the burn. As usual I procrastinated till the last, struggling on how to make this feeling material, how to express it and share it.

Here is what I've come up with so far ..

I created a blog, where I've written about my experience, a valentine, and have collected quotes, poems, and such.

I made a sketch last year of the sun rising over the playa within a heart, and the idea was to make a logo that I would put on clothes. Well I found myself extremely busy this year with life, my son, work, etc. and was pretty dissapointed that I did not have time to make this happen.

Weeks before the burn I found myself still trying to figure things out. I did find little heart things to give, a light up heart keychain, blinky hearts, and was thinking of making a card with the logo on it. Then I thought I wold make a sticker...but realized there wasn't much time. I decided on tickets. There were all kinds of posts online about people looking for or selling tickets and I thought what would be better than a free ticket to love.

I printed up tickets with the words ticket to love, a picture of the sunrising over the playa in a heart, and the blog address. I've had soo much fun giving out these tickets, and hope people enjoy them. So now I plan on making stickers, maybe t-shirts, and working on costumes for next year and ways to keep it alive during the year.

Love can happen at any moment and what better moment then this one!

On that note, I'd like to invite you to check out my sunrise valentine blog...www.sunrisevalentine.com

finally done moving and ready to go out!

<div>I'm so happy to be done moving.....except for the unpacking that is. . Now that I'm done I would like to invite you to go out with me this saturday night to COSM (alex grey's chapel of sacred mirrors) for my friend Skybears concert launching their new album. Where else will you find rock and roll, hula dancing, belly dancing, the russian polka and alex greys amazing art as background? Its at 27th between 10th and 11th at 8pm. ($15) check out my listing in events.
I can't believe how long the move has taken, and how much stuff I actually had. In my next lifetime I want to come back as a minimalist! I did manage to get rid of quite a few things and feel much lighter. Nontheless it is still mindboggling how much I have accumulated and one of my resolutions this year is to continue simplifying my life. the fact that my new home is a one year sublet and I'll have to move again in less than a year is further motivation to simplify. Here's to a simpler life, less clutter, in my place and in my head, and more time to spend doing what I love with friends. And last and most important I am so thankful to have such wonderful caring friends that have supported me through this move. A get together at my new home is coming soon!
much love

<div>I had an apt to meet my new landlady today and when I arrived they informed me that she had backed out. what a let down. The broker is going to try to convince her but I'm certainly not holding my breath.
now I'm back to square one and looking for a place. I'm hoping that since one door has now closed another better one will open
wish me luck on finding a place.

Great News I found a new home

<div>I want to take a moment and thank everyone who has responded and shown their support for me as I struggled to find a new home.
I found a new place in Brooklyn Heights. I am really happy to have found a place, convenient both to the city and all areas in brooklyn, in a nice neighborhood, finally a bedroom for my son zach, a big kitchen, and a big outdoor space to have all my plants, bbq, and invite people over for meals. I am looking forward to being closer to all my downtown and brooklyn friends, more community, and a garden.
Although there is some fear in moving and leaving what I know, I am embracing change and inviting new wonderful things, people, etc into my life. It does feel good to finally be moving and diving back into the flow. I feel as if for years I've been holding on to the edge unable to let go and embrace change, feeling stagnant and stuck here in nyc on the upper east side.
I know that my pet traumas, broken leg, landlord legal suit, are all a blessing in disguise. Without my landlord pushing us out I would still be stuck without the resources to move. When I sent out the urgent request one of my friends replied that I should be sending my landlord flowers and chocolate thanking him. and although I won't go that far I am grateful and do send him much light for inadvertently presenting me with the opportunity to move. I was able to take the last three months rent that was not accepted due to the litigation and instead use it to move! Basically he gifted me the money to move....minus my legal fees of course. The other wonderful thing said to me was by my neighbor, who is in realestate. I was fretting over not being able to find a place when she said, " why haven't you been able to find a place, when people want to find a place they do?" and I thought about it and realized that I didn't yet have a place because I was unsure and ambivilant about moving. On one hand I wanted to move but on the other hand was so afraid of making a mistake. So I stopped "just standing on the ledge" so to speak and "jumped" and put all my energy into finding a place and lo and behold I found it.
Now you would think that this the would be the end of the story....however it would not be complete without acknowledging the changing pains that I went through and still feel slight pangs of.
I was so exciting when I decided on the place, and proceeded to tell everyone I ran into about my new place. Although I did hear many positive things, the negative things, such as why there? how much are you paying? etc. played right into my fears and doubts and I ended up with a major anxiety attack...fearing that I had made a mistake. Of course I eventually calmed down, wrote down the pros and cons and went down to take a final look and handed over the funds to seal the deal. The big lesson in all of this for me is in trusting my instincts and being willing to take a chance, change, and move forward. This has been an opportunity for me to make a change and own my decision, recognizing it as such neither good or bad. I'm realizing that there isn't any perfect choice out there to make each one is going to have pros and cons and there isn't a perfect choice. Each one is going to require a letting go of things as they are and embracing new things. I'm just going to focus on making the most of my choice and as another good friend said, "you will make this apartment perfect for you", and I will. The last really big change I made was in coming to nyc... 9 years ago I joyously moved by myself across the country straight to the upper east side, now I intend to embrace all the new changes in my life and brooklyn.....and just wait for spring, you'll all be invited over for a bbq out in the garden!
gratefully
