* that I adore both tea and coffee.

*I love writing (fanfic).

* I enjoy baking from scratch.

*I love reading and that Octavia Butler is my favorite writer and definitely Goddess status in my opinion.

I believe - That you should always leave loved ones with loving words. It may be the last time you see them.

I believe - That you can keep going long after you think you can't.

I believe - That we are responsible for what we do, no matter how we feel.

I believe - That either you control your attitude or it controls you.

I believe - That heroes are the people who do what has to be done when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences.

I believe - That money is a lousy wa... read more

First let me say that I have to give credit to Serafina (a troupe member of Tribal Desires) for this saying! I love this saying!!! It speaks to me and recently it has been the unsung mantra of my troupe and tribe.

We have recently had to deal with a belly dance community event in which racial slurs were used. Although it affected my students and troupe deeply, other dancers were also affected by it when they learned of it. The way my dance sisters have come together to express their... read more

"Everyone Can't Be In Your Front Row.... "

Life is a theater - invite your audience carefully. Not everyone is
spiritually healthy and mature enough to have a front row seat in our
lives. There are some people in your life that need to be loved from a
distance.

It's amazing what yo... read more

As I have already stated, I am not a blogger, but I couldn't help blogging about a company from which I've recently bought dreadlocks! And let me say right up front--I have absolutely NO affiliation with this company! It “One Stop Hair”, a UK based company.

When we're not wearing full turbans, my troupe wears ethnic or "tribal" hair pieces, which we sometimes enhance with yarn, shells, etc. With all the hair we buy, we have dealt with quite a few vendors and always with very good result... read more

I met Kali in Chicago when we both attended Tribal Revolution. What a fantastic lady! I had the best time with her and her sidekick. They both were so much fun!

Thank you Kali for making my time in Chicago very enjoyable. You danced your heart out even though you were injured. That's a true sign that you are committed to this dance form we love so much. You are truly an inspiration!!

I hope we can get together at another workshop soon.

Kali is the most wonderful person I know. She is my instructor,my dance Goddess and my new friend. I have never had a teacher in anything I have ever done in school or otherwise that can build my confidence and make me feel worthy of what I am doing as she has. She has found a dancer in me and is showing me how to get her out and shine. After the first performance as a new tribe, I got compliments from friends and family that I just flowed on stage. Imagine that..a BBW that can flow, it shocked some, but I know that it was because of Kali and her teaching. Thank you Kali, for showing me that a out of shape BBW can shine. You have found the light in me. (need sunglasses anyone?) :)
