I've Probably Said This Before, But...
Wow. I've really been out of touch...
Tue, May 13, 2008 - 2:35 PMI resolve to make an appointment with myself to Kick Back and Relax each and every day for at least an hour. This is NOT siesta time. This is hang out and laugh a lot time. Now, I have to figure out if I will schedule this appointment or just let it happen. Any thoughts?
Last weekend I went to the Liquor Barn (okay, we don't have those here, you lucky Calif. kids, you!) in Delaware to stock up. We've increased our alcohol budget just for this year, to keep us well medicated through the elections. We were getting dangerously low, so I spent $199. That should hold us for a bit, even if the neighbors drop in. This will also help with the above mentioned "Happy Hour."
Heading to San Francisco this weekend. Yay!! Can't wait to meet Dean, see my brother & sis-in-law, and run a really fun race. I'm hoping to break 8 minute miles. I've been pretty good this week, "tapering."
I joined the Y last week. Ok, I have to tell you, this is one fancy Y. The women's locker room is like something out of a Saturday Night Live skit... you know, the one of the women's room with massage tables and guys holding palm fans? Ok, the Y doesn't have the palm fans, but.... It's definitely like a country club. But, I joined for the pools and now I've discovered the FABULOUS fitness room with a computerized weight machine systems that remembers your weights and lets you log all your workouts. It's *so* much better than Gold's Gym. (Don't sue me, please.)
Eben and I did a "brick" last weekend. That's where you Bike and then immediately Run and feel ICKy afterwards, but we didn't feel icky. Must have not worked hard enough, haha! We biked 10 miles (go Eben!) and then ran about 2 miles. I must say, Eben's legs are awesome!
Yesterday was very cold. Winter coat and everything (well, maybe that was a bit extreme, but....), but today we're back to spring. Thank heavens. I'm ready to get in that 50 meter outdoor pool!

Rioja! Generalmente compro ambos, pero no esta vez. And lots of non-wine stuff too. What's summer without Gin & Tonic? And really, we were out of *everything.* I think Tequila is the only thing I *didn't* get, but that's cause I'll let the neighbors make the margaritas!
Amma, it might be the first weekend in August this year! July is already so packed. This is insane! Stay tuned. It's my first order of business when I return from SF. |
