I felt like sharing this......
The Iraq War..............Why did America invade Iraq in the first (The public reason)?
Wed, March 19, 2008 - 11:48 AM1. Iraq has weapons of mass destruction and therefore is dangerous
2. He is supporting Al Qaida and therefore America's the war on terror has to be extended to Iraq as well.
Watch the video clips in this link:-

Both reasons have been proven false in the extensive interrogation of Saddam after his capture.
Hey, so now that its clear that both the reasons were false, lets exit from Iraq tomorrow and withdraw all troops and come back to square one.
Is it possible? I don't think so. America is going to have to live with this legacy for the next god-knows-how-many years.
This really makes me angry. The unfairness of it all.
-Thousands and thousands of people have died, been massacred, women raped, children orphaned.
-Iraq is not likely to reach a state of stability and security anytime soon.
-Billions of USD have been spent in a war whereas the money could have been better utilised to fund research in renewable energy sources to remove the dependency on the goddamn-fossil-fuel-economy, building orphanages, reducing health care cost etc etc etc. The list can go on.
All this war for what??? What responsibility does a country like US have while making a decision to invade another country? Especially going against the world opinion?
Is the American public so gullible that they voted for Bush the second time around? That they could not see that the reasons that were given in the first place for the war were FALSE?? The real reason was - control over oil and OPEC and presence in the middle-East? Isn't this country supposed to have a fantastic literacy rate and high education levels, communications systems all set-up? After all its a 1st world developed country, yeah?
I guess one cant keep crying over split milk. I am wondering what are the options? What ideas do you have for the US to exit this campaign gracefully and fair?
Any suggestions???? Or is this a mess that we all will have to live through in some or the other for the next god-knows-how-many-years??
How can public opinion be engaged in the future, when such dramatic decisions need to be made?
Or does public opinion not matter at all?
Or does it mean that once we have elected our reps in the government, they have full authority to run an authoritarian regime while throwing wool in the eyes of the public? (Why is this different then the Nazi regime?)
Shouldn't the workings of a democratic govt be transparent to the people?
Why dont we have an secure internet polling site where the entire population can register and vote whether they want the country to go to war or not, after having done their own research? And the govt be bound to the popular opinion of its citizens.
Why not have a participatory democracy and governance?
I invite your thoughts.

America is not a true Democracy. There are only 2 parties and both are dominated by large corporations.
The myth of an America where everyone lives in peace, harmony and happiness has been a nice propaganda tool created by Hollywood. The truth of the matter is that most Americans have no health insurance, possess jobs which only last a few years at most and they are in debt up to their ears. Furthermore they know virtually nothing about other countries and cultures. However they do believe they are some sort of modern day Roman empire and feel they can abuse, intimidate and invade smaller countries. Thankfully this will come to an end, for soon America will be totally bankrupt. The only reason they are able to keep their current war going is because countries like Japan and China are buying their government bonds. Once that comes to an end they will have no option but to pull their troops out of Iraq. America was a nice experiment. Unfortunately greed and corruption got in the way. Oh well, on we go to bigger and better things. Can you spell One World government? =UN |
