My Testimonials

May 26, 2009
I love you. It's that plain and simple. Your path is yours and you own it... always. Even when you seem to be questioning it... you know who, what, when, where, and why you are. That is a truly amazing thing my friend and I am full of gratitude to have been able to cross paths with you.

To many more crossroads where we will meet.

XOXOXOXO

I've never been in the armed forces; never been in a war. But when I run into KK, it feels like how it must feel to run into a brother in arms. We've helped each other through some tight spots. The first time I met Kamikaze was years ago at Dreamtime. Although shorthanded, we had each others' back and managed a fine festival. Been annoying each other ever since.

Well KK is kind of like me in a wierd and vague sense.. he doesnt have a bridge to live under, and neither do I. He likes Bob Seger and so do I. He is honest and loving and doesn't like hippies, so we remain sheltered friends. Lovingly Plokk Drainbo Hippy Troll in search of a bridge.

I know as a fact that the effect of Kamikaze Kelly on my life was to give me appreciation of that wonderful thing called 'community'. It's something I took home with me the first time I read KK's blogs, and investigated it to my satisfaction. There's something humble, honest, and open about it that the man expresses every time he sits down to write.

There's good people and bad people in the world. I know in my heart that Kelly is one of the finest individuals that I know. His American Dream proves to me that there are, indeed, still good people today in the US. It ain't just a dream. People who work hard, play hard, live hard, and enjoy the freedoms that allow Burningman to happen.

Despite his assertion that his project is finished, it lives on in the man himself.

Kelly, you friggin' hippy. I know you've never let me down with false promises or assertions. I'm proud, honored, and humbled to call you my friend. You are, sir, an American Dream all your own.

Kamikaze cares enough about the Burn community to troll people online who he sees as violating its principles. For real.

about me
I tend to take things over the top. My sense of humor is...well, let's just say that my favorite line from a movie is from 'Full Metal Jacket' when the FNG asks the Gunner in the door of the Huey "How can you shoot Women and Children?!" drum roll, please..."It's Easy! You just don't lead them as much!!”
If I can make you snort milk out of your nose with my writings, I'm a happy Man.
I'm fiercely protective of me and mine.
When not flying with the Military, I work Counter Culture festivals. Burningman is my favorite. From DPW (lived on the ranch 2002-2003), to a few years as a part of the BRC Airport Management Team, and currently active in Regionals. Wherever I go, I love to work, make new friends, and bum warm beers while blasting 'Cat Scratch Fever' at 7:30 AM to help the Ravers get up and enjoy their day while evicting Hippies and I actually get paid for this shit. I've got the best job on or off the Playa!

Whatever You are for...I'm against!!!

My Blog

I'll be shutting down the P.O. Box next week. Road tripping to Austin for Thanksgiving, then out processing.
It's going to be hectic after this weekend through the Holidays. I just wanted to take a moment and thank all of you who have stayed in touch, sent mail, called, or simply dropped me a message.
Thank You!
Life on a Military Base, month after month, away from friends, family, and community can be hard. It's a very artificial environment with it's own unique set of requirments, ritual... read more

On this day, I want to Honor those in our Community who have served. Some are still with us. Some are not.
Veterens are just one small part of this radically inclusive thing we call Burningman; but, to me... an important one.
Thank you for serving.

I wrote that early this morning at Sheppard AFB and posted it on the Burningman Tribe. Went back to my room, watched the History Channel, drank a beer on a down day, and felt...restless.
The Fort Hood shooting is a part of it. Being so iso... read more

I haven't been able to keep up with Y'all or post here as much as I would like.

First, my heart goes out to anybody affected by the tragic shooting at Fort Hood. Friday morning, every class here (@8,000 Airmen) was visited by a Supervisor offering Counseling resources. That sounds like the start of a bad joke, but the Military really does care about it's own and makes sure you have what you need. Anything I write here is just not ...adequete. Moving on...

Still at Sheppard AFB until Dec 10. My next pass is Nov 26-29 and some DPW crew (Thanks Shep!) offered a roadtrip to Austin, TX.
I have more news, but as usual...my time and online access is limited.
Electronic Warfare is heavily classified, so I won't be sharing details of the last few months here.
I'll be road tripping to California over the holidays. Latest plan is Mom wants to go and see my Daughter and my Sister's families, so...I may be driving Mom across America for the first time e... read more

I owe many thanks!!!
Never did find the Eeyore I was looking for, but the Eeyore I hung out with was awesome. (inside/Burner joke)
DPW I hadn't seen in years. New friends well met. Old friends reaquanted.
BTW...what is it about Texas Women?! I must have fallen in love at least 5 times last weekend!!!
The only down note was the rain and mud, but some folk there had been to Interfuse this year and we agreed it was muddier in Missouri.
Shep offered his place in Austin for a Meet n Greet. We... read more
