My Testimonials

December 7, 2007
Kamini is a ball of fire. Dancing with her is like riding passenger in a race car. It's like your favorite roller-coaster ride. It's the moment I live for, it's why I spend hours a week practicing, hours getting ready on performance days. Those sweet 15 minutes of energizing creativity come swirling out of this talented dancer and I wish it would never end. Wheeeeee!

Honeybee is neat. She's smart, creative, full of energy and enthusiasm-- an all around swell gal! I'd trust her to cat sit any day :)

Left Brain Purge

I'm rarely on Tribe these days...Facebook seems more pleasingly integrated. If you want to contact me or have questions about The Bijou Project, please visit www.bijouproject.com or email kamini@bijouproject.com.

I'll be on every once in a blue moon, but if you are on Facebook, look me up over there!

Cheers,
~K

I remember the first time I heard about Rakkasah. I was a baby dancer back then, when word of a grand festival with endless vending and stunning and unusual performances set my imagination on fire. What would it be like to attend a festival of such magnitude? I couldn't exactly imagine it, but my curiosity was piqued. Six or seven years later, I was able to make the dream a reality-- 2008 was the year!

Like the crew of Gilligan's Island, we were 8 fine ladies in a big white van, sett... read more

I found this somewhere and wanted to post it on my blog because it's been sitting--scribbled on a scrap piece of paper-- on my desk for far too long.

I was reading another Triber's Profile today and it made me think of the occasional "perfect moments" I experience. These are random, intermittent moments where my mind becomes clear and focused and the static noise of my thoughts fades away. In these moments, all becomes still and I observe the world without judgment, worry or care. In these moments, what can only be described as joy and peace fill my soul and a feeling of rightness flows within me.

Brown & Red & Yellow leaves are blowing.
Twirling, flipping, flowing in the wind.
All the glorious autumn colors showing,
Soon it will be snowing here in Bend.

Autumn’s weather: brisk and breathless waiting -
a pause before the storms of winter come.
Longer days and shorter nights abating –
turns my appreciation toward the home.

Positive vs.

We do not grow absolutely, chronologically. We grow sometimes in one dimension, and not in another; unevenly. We grow partially. We are relative. We are mature in one realm, childish in another. The past, present, and future mingle and pull us backward, forward, or fix us in the present. We are made up of layers, cells, constellations.

There are too many people on earth insipid, unsalted, rabbity, endlessly hopping. They nibble the face of the earth to a desert.
