Designer Wearable Felt
Brought to you from a creative process that honours the journey.
My 100% Aotearoa/NZ Wool is sourced from only the happiest and healthiest sheep.
The wool I hand dye myself using a mixture of methods from the palette of nature.
The Felt is made using an ancient Asianic method of layering the wool, then using Hot water ,soap and friction I roll wool in what I call my giant sushe mat.The fibres are shrunken and matted together.
Once the felt is made it is transformed again,with design and stiching.Then adourned with Leather, Paua, Pounamu (NZ jade),feathers etc....
Every Creation is a one off designer piece.
I Create Cuffs,Clothing,Belts,Hats and Shawls, in the realm of Wearable Felts.
I Create Felt picture art,by excentuating images using a method I alike to Oil Painting, whereas I lay the wool on the already Felted background image. Then felt it on a minute level using a Felting Needle that pushes and pulls the fibres through the Felt.

A the suge of spirit comes through me,I bring it into material form.
Felting is one of the worlds oldest manipulated fiber techniques.
The Charm of the felting process is that it is all_ways open to discovery.
