Heirloom Bellydance Costumes
I need stitching help today and maybe tomorrow.
( jobs » art / media / design ) It has finally happened. I can't use my right hand, and I have some deadlines to meet.
I need to hire someone to help me finish a couple of mostly finished projects today and maybe tomorrow. I am paying $12hr.
If you can make it to my West Oakland studio, I need help sewing some trim, coins, and fastenings to a bra. I also need help cutting and stitching a pair of childrens pantaloons.

My signature style combines love of color and graceful composition with unorthodox construction techniques. The result is a whimsical yet elegant gypsy aesthetic.
In addition to my own gloves, tendril skirts, kimono practice tops, and hoodie sakura gowns, I will have large gauge hand-blown glass earrings amd necklaces by Tansy Brooks as well as some traditional tribal accessories.

Finally, after a year, I know what is wrong with me.
1) Trigger finger. My index finger on my right hand pops out uncontrollably when I extend in the morning. I got a cortisone shot today.
2) The space separating the joint between either my collarbone and my acromion or my acromion and the head of my humerus is too small. That is what has been causing the OTHER weird hand pains (the ones where they close up and I can't open my hands). The doctor prescribed physical therapy for this, and...

Why did I just buy 2 one-way tickets back to North Carolina for September 1st? Because Christian's coming with me, and because my grandmother has agreed to sell me her 1972 Mercedes 280SE, and because we're going to drive her back across the country. We both want to see New Orleans, Austin, and Santa Fe.
The picture isn't the exact car--mine's baby blue, but except for the color it's exactly the same.

Today I applied to join the Theatrical Wardrobe Union. I don't know how long it will take to get on the list, but the news was encouraging. They typically have 65-70 members on the list in rotation, and at present they only have about 45. I updated my resume and sent some pictures of my work, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
