I've always liked the description 'down to earth', but I know very few people that I would describe that way. Kathryn is one of them. She is a remarkably intelligent woman with a creative streak a mile wide, and she manages to mesh whimsy with logic in a calm and orderly fashion. Plus, I'm American, so I always think she says the cutest stuff. We're easily impressed over here.

Hello!
(blog entry)
I am alive. I haven't been on here for bloody ages. I've had a short dancing hiatus actually. I've been so busy what with the new job, Christmas, moving house and so on that I've not really had time for everything. I won't have time for everything...

Bye bye phone
(blog entry)
My mobile phone finally died a sad and oddly coloured death this morning (the screen gave up, which is a shame as I think the rest of the phone still works), so I have a new a flashier one, but I'm waiting for the SIM to become active with my old ...

(blog entry)
Well the audition seemed to go well, though I was really nervous. I made a couple of mistakes but I don't know if they were spotted. I was successful though, so I am now a member of Mersin as well as Covert Bling (which I still want to call Cillit...

Woah
(blog entry)
I've not been on tribe for bloody ages and there is so much to catch up on.
I've been generally just really busy for the last few weeks to be honest, and that's not likely to change in the future, I suspect I won't be around as much as I used ...

Crikey!
(blog entry)
I've not really been here properly for ages.
Went to Reading Festival and now have weird tan lines.
I'm now even more obsessed with Arcade Fire than I was before.
Work?
I'm having my Wisdom Teeth removed in October.
Erm, that's it.
about me
I live in Reading (not London).
I now work for the Institute of Field Archaeologists having trained to be an archaeologist (forensic in fact) and having a very early midlife crisis where I wavered between becoming a fireman, a herbalist and a hermit. I also bought a really short skirt but not being able to drive made getting a sports car a bit of a silly idea. I am still trying to work out what to do with my life and am currently contemplating a PhD which covers as many of my interests as possible. In my spare time I belly dance, practice Yoga, knit, sew, crochet, am involved with theatre, mostly technical but I have been known to get on stage, I write, I paint and I sleep.
I have 2 older brothers, one of which is circumnavigating the globe with his wife, on a motorbike. They're just about to head into Iran as I speak. The other lives in Bristol. My mum's a nurse and my dad died 9 years ago.
Je suis une petite chat, elle s'appelle Figgy. Elle est tres mignone. My most used phrase in French (and probably nto spelt properly or using the right verb tense or something) when I was at school. All I can now say in German is Wie komme ich am besten zum bahnhof bitte? Neither will get me far in European travel.

I won't have time for everything for a while yet to be honest but I think I'm starting to lower myself back into everything again which is much needed as I can't work all the time!

I know that I can just put my old SIM in there for the time being but I can't be arsed and it won't kill me to be out of mobile contact for a bit. It's supposed to come up tomorrow (Sunday) evening. In the meantime you won't be able to call m...

I've had a major tribe prune today, as I was a member of far too many and being away for a while had made me realise how little I read a lot of them, so I've deleted a load of them. Apologies if you moderate any of them, it's just that I ...

I have a new job. It's where I've been working for the last 2 years but I've been promoted to a new, and more interesting and better paid, role. Which I am really happy about.
Tonight I have my audition to join Mersin.
I'm starting t...
