I've realized for some time that bellydancers are hungry to make their own unique performance costumes, but often their costuming skills do not always support their creative vision. Additionally, the cost of high end professional-grade costumes is prohibitive to most, and if other dancers are like me, they want a new costume for nearly every new piece of music they dance to in order to visually impart the feeling they want to surround their dance -- so the only reasonable alternative is to make their own.

I love sewing; I love bellydance. And as it turns out, almost everything I sew these days is bellydance-related in some fashion. I also love teaching others to sew, and have over the years acquired very specific costuming and couture sewing skills that would make any dancer sigh with relief to see what she can actually make herself (and quite easily, at that!), and what a tremendous savings she'll have to her bank account. All the more cash for jewelery and music, I say!
