We're movin' to Hindustan!

Yes, that's right folks, we just closed today on a house in Hindustan, Indiana!! LOL...it's actually a Bloomington address, but there are signs before and after our road stating that you're entering Hindustan, and a Hindustan Christian Church, so I figure there used to be an old town there by that name (I think the sign on the church says 1840?). That, or there was a hippy commune there. Not uncommon around Bloomington; they didn't used to call it "Little Berkley" back in the '70's for nothin'!! There is an apple orchard and a winery nearby.

It is an old country house from 1961 that's been completely renovated, PLUS 11 acres of forest land!!! It sits right up against one of our state forests around Bloomington, and it's just dreamy. It's going to be a great place to raise our daughter :)

I probably won't be around Tribe as much because of this move, so if you wonder where I am, I'm out in the woods getting my Elven castle put together!!!

I thought the same thing! (giggles)

Is that THE house you're moving in to? It's beautiful! Reminds me of the Cape Cods out on Long Island. I'd buy that house for the porch alone!

Many happy years in your new home!

When I lived in Anderson
we used to go to Bloomington all the time
isn't there mountains around there (small moutains but mountains none the less)
there was a town nearby that was preseved in the old days. you couldn't drive in but you could walk in
there was a restaurant that cooked food while you waited and the staff play a game called "heads N feds" with you

Paint!!!
OH, hell, the party's all the time! I'm serious...there is a bonfire pit in the backyard (and you can tell that it was loved!); plus, we are building a pool and jacuzzi off the back! My husband is going to extend the patio to the back, and then build beneath it for the pool/hot tub, so it's enclosed! I'd also like to put a tee-pee or something similar out back in our woods; perhaps I'll build a sweat-lodge, too. I used to have one on another piece of land that I lived on.

I just painted the living room a gorgeous med. peach; my husband says it's pink, but it's not!! LOL..it's peachy-pink, but the color was called "New Clay". I think once we get our rug in there it will pull it towards the peach instead of the pink; it's a Kashan and has dark red, navy, plus all the greens and peaches, etc., too. Then, the dining room is going to be white sage with a darker green stencil of ivy; the kitchen is going to be butter yellow with a black background fruit wall paper border (the appliances are black, so I think the contrast of the yellow with it will look good!) My husband's office will be "blue smoke", and the matching bathroom, "artemesia" (very light blue); I have a fleur-de-liy (sp?) stencil I want to do in dark blue in his bathroom. Then, upstairs there are two bedrooms; Athena's is going to be lavender with a princess castle wallpaper border! I got some darker purple paint for the trim. Then, our room is going to be terra-cota with a gold leaf wash over it, and I got a beautiful gold metallic wallpaper border that has scenes on it like a painting, peacocks, flowers, etc. Very baroque. Then Athena and I are sharing the upstairs bathroom for now (Daddy gets the downstairs one to himself--too dirty for me!); it will be light lilac with an Iris flower wallpaper border (Athena's middle name is Iris!) We'd like to have our own master bathroom up there, so we'll probably build it over the garage eventually.

I'm tired, gotta go rest..

Love you guys!!!

Basement
OH, yeah, the basement; it is bare now, it has a 1/2 bath, and a kitchenette. We're going to make rooms down there, dry wall, ceilings, carpet, etc. It's actually going to get done first, because my husband does contracting, and his employees are going to come and start it tomorrow. So, there will be: family room where the kitchenette is with washer/dryer, guest bedroom next to the bathroom (we're putting in a shower shell); and a dance studio for me with mirrors!! I'm so excited...that way I can practice more at home, and Athena can, too!

There's also a shed out back with a kennel off of it, a two car garage, and a swing set area for Athena! Finally, we have a proper home for her to grow up in. This condo is too small for us now!!!
