What I've been doing...
Mon, December 3, 2007 - 4:43 AMI was pleased with my costume(s). Largely home-made :-)
And pleased enough with my performance. Later, watching the video Mariquita took, I tend towards critique more than appreciation (of course I do - I'm planning to improve). But when I remind myself of context, I'm impressed! The groups I danced with have only been learning ATS for three to six months. And this is long way for me to have come in the six or seven years since I was only able to walk in shuffles and lurches and only felt safe walking when close enough to walls or furniture to have something to grab onto when I started to fall. (Sometimes it feels like I've been holding my breath forever, and now is the time to breathe again.)

COOL! Looking good, girl! I would love to do this...is it difficult? Do I have to be fit? No, I'm not coming to Australia any time soon <g>...but I think there are classes locally somewhere...

Swarm: *s*
orpheus: "hassan sabbah rides again..." Quite an art you've mastered there - to say so much in so few words! marion: Thanks! It's partly difficult and partly not (like most things *g*), and which part is which varies from person to person. If you're not very fit when you start, you'll be fitter six months later (at least, that's my experience of the thing). I know there are teachers in the UK - a number of them are on tribe! |

sharyn: the music on the fast improv is by Ganga Giri. I don't know the track/album name, but I'll see if I can find out...
I've got a few other good didg/electronica tracks at home - will list some when I get back there. |

sharyn - a few techno-didg links for ya...
Ganga Giri [ www.gangagiri.com/ ] (we dance to them!) I still haven't discovered the track name, though. eMDee [ www.rawdidge.com/finalweb/Default.htm ] several free dls throughout their site. I've seen them live - brilliant! They appear sympathetic to remixers (publish one on their site) though I haven't asked them myself (I just *did* this one without asking -- eileen.erraticah.net/sounds/...hant.mp3 ) Wild Marmalade [ www.wildmarmalade.com/ ] A great download on their site - Live in Tokyo 2002! I'd love to catch 'em live somewhere! Dr Didg [ www.drdidg.com/ ] a few samples on their site - you could see whether you like them - they don't *quite* hit it for me. |
