So who all doesn't have a Burning Man Camp or where are you all camping? Steph and I are still looking for a camp or else we are looking to create our own little camp. I have been with a camp every year I have gone and it would be fun to start our own little thing. Let me know what you are all doing?!

My Hometown Destroyed... The Earth's revenge...

My home town Cedar Rapids/Marion, Iowa is being destroyed and I'm stuck in Colorado... The largest flood in history has swept across all of Iowa leaving over 75 counties of the 99 listed as 'Disaster Areas'. I have a lot of family all around Iowa including my parents, brother and sister, cousins, uncles, and grandparents. So far they are estimating all the damage in the Billions..
Late at night the news hit the hospital in downtown Cedar Rapids that they are to evacuate. While people who could walk rush to get things together and get out the staff work to get the poor people in wheel chairs and on stretchers out of the building... The hospital down sits in river of water, filling a few stories up. The whole downtown area of Cedar Rapids has been completely flooded with not a street left uncovered.
Things are changing in this world and our generation will be the ones to witness the start of it all. Plate techtonics underneath the center of the Midwest are shifting which will continue to cause more and more earthquakes and tremors as time goes on. Are we witnessing the beginning of a planetary change? It is estimated that mountain ranges and hills will start to form with these changes, ranging north to south along the midwest. I always remembered hearing about how continents were connected long long ago... It feels to me that this is the start of a new age... Sadly the world is not making all of the decisions... With Global Warming we have begun a new cycle to which the world is not accustomed. We have altered the way the world works and the earth is having to react is desperate ways. Massive earthquakes killing 10's of thousands, freak storms flooding entire cities in a matter of hours, tornadoes ripping through parts of the world that rarely see them, and a rising heat level in a time where the Earth is supposed to be cooling down.
It is hard to say that anything can be done now or what else is to come... Have we got on the 'Green' bandwagon to late? Have 'WE' the people finally opened enough eyes to save what we have begun to destroy? This I cannot say... but know that we can still make a difference, we can keep spreading the words we have cherished and lived by all this time and continue to open eyes.

It was our last night in Costa Rica last night... We leave in about 2 hours for the airport. When we reached San Jose the Moon was full and beaming. As we reached our hostile and got things ready we saw a little black sliver going over the moon. We had no idea we would be witnessing yet anothing Full Moon Eclipse. This was our second within the last 6 months (the first being Burning Man August 28th, 2007) All day there was crzy energy flying between everything we encountered and it finally all made since with that one sight... We sat through Eclipse in silence just running through our trip in our heads and feeling the massive energy that was flowing through us.
Now it is a wonderful morning and time to take the trek back to Boulder to get ready for our next crzy trip. See everyone soon...

Laura, Ali, Mica and I just got back from Telluride! We performed for the music festival and Extreme Ski Expo.. The event lasted Friday night and all day Saturday with some night time fire. What we couldn't believe was that this weekend was the coldest its been so far! We were performing in -9 degree weather and it felt like -25... I believe we can now consider ourselves extreme performers! Going out onto a street that had 3 inches of ice, starting out in coats, then stripping down to our costumes to put on a show. I don't think my fingers have ever been that cold! But luckily we made it through with everything in place and put on a great show. Even with that cold we had a great time and performed out hearts out.

Mandated Federal ID Cards?!?!

I don't usually listen to the radio, but I happened to be on my drive home tonight and I heard that the government is issuing Federal ID cards for everyone in the country. By October 2008 if you are a citizen of the U.S. you will be required by law to have on in possession at all times. I normally would be like whatever to this but this lovely little card we have to carry around also has a chip built inside of it... and this little chip tells the government where the card is, which by law has to be on your person... So we are required BY LAW to have tracking devices on us at all times... why don't they just give us all anklets or something...? I definitely do not agree with this at all. Of course people will say "IF you don't have anything to hide you would be fine!" well bullshit on that. The CIA and FBI already have too much information about us with all the hacking and phone taps that they ILLEGALLY pull, I don't believe they should have anymore information of my personal whereabouts. What does everyone else think??! Please let me know...

I am the distant star that no one sees.
You may stare at me although I’m not there.
I gently tiptoe past you like the breeze,
Floating by free for all the world to share.
I am the distant star that no one knows.
To find my name you’d need a cryptic clue.
Best avoided like the thorn of a rose.
Used only as much as a single shoe.
I am the distant star that was your friend.
Our friendship reached the heights of the giant oak.
I waited for the card you didn’t send,
And one by one the branches broke.
I am the distant star that people taunt.
Ignored but laughed at, an object of scorn.
Forever a ghost with no one to haunt,
A dusty gravestone that no one will mourn.
I am the distant star that people think,
Will always be an unsightly blemish.
And with every cruel word I quickly shrink,
Feeling starved with every meal I cherish.
I am the distant star that tried to speak,
To ask why there were no wounds where it hurt.
But I keep the tears that never leak,
So there’s nothing to wash away the dirt.
I am the distant star that didn’t know,
Inside myself the beauty I would find.
For within me many candles glow,
But I blew them out because I was blind

So dark is the night that even shadows hide away in respect of the primal void.
Though I know the path well, I stand motionless, imaging myself an early man, perhaps the first man, preparing to step into the unknown.
The songs of crickets, frogs, the river…even the wind in the trees…all seem to blend into an undulating sibilance.
I no longer stand in a lightless night but within the coils of a monstrous, flat, black serpent.

Facing the great fear
What’s waiting beneath the bed
Taking the first steps

Then, almost shyly, a single star peeks through the thinning clouds. Soon, others follow and the sky begins to blaze.
Fireflies semaphore their availability to mates and shadows dance as the moon, full and provocative, rises naked from the willows.
Back in my time and place, I resume my journey, able to see, to a degree, what lies ahead. But though the path is familiar, there are now subtle differences that both chill and thrill.

Change…the hand of time
Nature’s greatest curse and gift
Vivid memories

How long I have wandered and why are questions not easily answered. Perhaps one day I will, but for now, I will continue my walk…through sunlight and shadow and back again.
It may seem aimless but it’s not.
There is within me a hunger and a hope that one day, I will find my answers and define the indefinable.

On a garden path
White chrysanthemum petals
Mimic the first snow

The heart is a gateless gate to reality. Move from the head to the heart.
We are all hung up in the head. That is our only problem, the only one problem. And there is only one solution: get down from the head into the heart and all problems disappear. They are created by the head. And suddenly everyting is so clear and so transparent that one is surprised how one was continuously inventing problems.
Mysteries remain but problems disappear.
Mysteries abound but problems evaporate.
And mysteries are beautfiul. They are not to be solved...
They have to be lived.

It has cleared up now and I hope it stays that way so that all our stuff on the roof dries off. Just thought I'd give a last thought before we disappear from contact... Hope everyones week goes great! Take care! See you all in a couple weeks! Much love. Keile, Frankie, medack, aaron and Tracy
