My name is Kelebek, which is the Turkish word for BUTTERFLY. This name suits me very well since I've managed to transform myself physically and emotionally into a new butterfly of sorts numerous times in my life. I'm a fusion dancer-translation: if it has a beat, I'll dance to it. I love to improv so my routines are always evolving. I've studied Cabaret, Tribal, Jazz, Hip Hop and a few other dance styles. I dance with attitude and purpose, but mostly for fun. I am a fantasy dancer-I have a new persona for each fantasy and a costume t to further enhance the experience. I have many dance and music inspirations but my style is a combination of burlesque, tribal, and cabaret movement to traditional and non traditional songs.

My interests are varied. I like to try so many things and judge how much I liked it later. Would like to start a group or a progam that introduces belly dancing and middle eastern music and culture to inner city teenagers. I think it would a great outlet and speaking from my own experiences growing up in a rough neighborhood, dancing and school keep me off the streets and made me who I am today. I want to start a belly dance group for cancer survivors as well. I think the positive vibes and bonding fostered in troupes really help to generate good energy.
