Computer, Technical, & Entertainment

Ken has been fondly nicknamed "MacGyver" by friends and family because of his ability to fix and improve nearly everything he touches. He discovered and nurtured this talent early in life in his father's workshop.

As he developed the technical skills for our industrial and computer age, he put his talents to use as an AC repair and installation specialist, automotive repair technician and aircraft electronics surplus recovery tech and then as an appliance repair and parts customer support person.

Soon Ken discovered that computers were a natural for him. From software support to hardware installation, he knows how to work through just about any problem, although he is more fond of PC's than Macs. Ken has been a part of the crew that built the largest medical database on the planet (www.emedicine.com) documenting every known disease to mankind.

Ken has supported the more esoteric healing practices built upon Eastern beliefs and helped build a website for Zeev Kolman a world reknowned healer. www.zeevkolman.net

He has built, maintained and marketed countless websites, tweaking them to outperform the expectations of clients and customers. Ken is the technical facilitator that took Kevyn Major Howard from shooting film to digital photography, successfully. With a background that also includes the entertainment industry as a support person for agents, casting directors, and his beautiful wife (actress/model Kitty Kavey) and knowledge in their unique printing needs, Ken forged ahead to develop new and revolutionary concepts in printing that are now the standard for Kevyn's photography business.

Ken has taken on many roles on set, from PA to grip to prop master. His keen negotiating skills have earned him respect as a producer. He is closed affiliated with www.SecretVisions.com .

Ken also runs a consulting business (www.startime.com).

Ken has taken on many roles on set, from PA to grip to prop master. His keen negotiating skills have earned him respect as a producer, and he works with the Howard brothers: Kevyn Major Howard (KMH Studios) and Kelsey Howard (Primetime Pictures), helping develop new film and television projects.

He’s never above doing the most menial task on set, and pitches in wherever he can, often anticipating the needs of others before they themselves do. He is currently doing research for documentaries as well as several movies for both KMH Studios and SecretVisions.com.

Artist

Ken Horkavy has been a creative visionary since he was born. His first memory of mixing color and texture at age three was taking every bottle of shampoo and other bath products, and mixing them together to see how things changed, meshed and contrasted. His favorite color for many years after that was “Selsun Blue.” Needless to say, he enjoyed a colorful, fun and extraordinarily messy childhood.

After creating household art for many years, he moved on to exploring his visions with industrial chemicals to burn in or create artistic representations using everything from lead, acid, metals and wood, to plastics and paper.

Finally, as an adult, he moved to Los Angeles and bought a loft, where he, for the first time, had the space to utilize a canvas as large as he wanted and create as he wished. So his art has gotten bigger and even more colorful. Often times he depicts the dichotomy he sees in the neighborhood: The bottomless pit of broken dreams and Skid Row, and the exhilarating spirals of the industry, sucking everything towards itself, ignorant of the weak and the poor, and the universe that cradles us all, keeping us always together in the maelstrom of life.

Ken is always creative and always ready for every new attempt to share what he sees and feels with the world around him. His work is vaguely reminiscent of Pollock’s, but is expressed with swirls, spirals and drips. He does not use a brush, mixing the paint on the canvas by hand, just as he did as a child.
