We went to sleep last night to the sounds of the pouring rain streaming through our open window. I slept through the night to the symphony of thunder and lightning. As I drempt , I drempt of Pennsic. Of wet canvass and campfire smoke. Of friends and laugher.

I miss you guys and look forward to seeing you soon.

Well, like I said the Harley had some issues so I took it back, made a deal with them to get this monster for only $152.50 more. This dealer really likes .50 for some reason. I like this bike better than the Harley actually although is has a smaller engine.

Ok, I could represent the SBG on my little Ninja so I sold it. I'll be take delivery on a 2005 Harley Sportster 883c tomorrow morning!!!! I've excited as all hell! I will be doing a road trip on it to the burg once the weather gets nice. Oh, and BTW if there are any of those decals left I could use one....

HAIL SPRINGWOOD!!!

addendum:
Harley turned out to be a broken turd, traded it in for a 2005 Vstar 650 classic with just about every add-on already installed. Pics to follow.

I got my bike back from the shop yesterday, Mechanic cut me a break and only charged me half price for the work he did (cause he did the same thing to it last year and a sales person told be bad info). Of course as I show up to pick it up from the dealership a thunderstorm rolls in with huge winds so I had to sit there and wait for it to blow itself out. So the first time I got to ride my bike this year it was raining. This morning dawned dry and purty though so the bike got to goto work today. It's funny how my 2 vehicles balance each other absolutlly. The Jeep is slow and can go anywhere, the motorcycle is fast and really limited to where it can go. It's nice to go fast sometimes!!!

On a completlly unrelated note, I recentlly purchased both Halo 2 and Shadowrun for the PC if anyone else it playing them. My gamertag is Kerovick.

In case you didn't know Shadowrun is the first cross-platform game, I can be on my PC and you can be on an x-box 360! Neato huh?

Happy Midsummer/Solistice

Wow, it's monday,. Pennsic is finally going on. May of you guys are already there enjoying the fabulous weather, hanging around the camp fire and enjoying each others company. I, however am sitting in my cube at work day dreaming about a 4 hour car drive and the madness that follows. I guess I can't compain to much because I at least know when I'm leaving (unlike poor Vade). I'm a fairlly excitable person, I get keyed up when looking forward to things but this week..... It's living hell to me! I know Pennsic is going on, I can hear the drums and smell the campfire smoke but I can't get there yet. ::Sigh::

I have decided after like 13 years of the SCA that it's time to Actually Join the Society and Make a Persona... Yes, I know you old schoolers remember that I did have one at a point along time ago but (Thorin) has died of old age.

I'm not the same person I was before. Thorin was a 20 something, skinny drummer with long hair and a great love of the ladies. My new persona is a balding slightlly chunky beer swiller with a great love for 1 particular lady.

I've been dickin around on the internet a little and have determined that My RL nane Shannan is actuall Celtic from Seanon , and my last name Hamil is Ó hÁdhmaill. So In my RL name I have a perfectlly documentable Celtic name. Kinda cool but not nessacaryilly the name I'm gonna Join the Soceity under.

The next hurdle I find my self coming to is the fact that I know suprisinglly little about the Celts!! I thought I knew quite alot about them till I started wonder about what they wear and what tools they used. I'm pretty famillar with there art but thats about it!

I guess to some extend this Blog is a request for assistance from my Pennsic brothers and sister. Some of you are very very very in the know about these things, Could ya help a brother out? I'm looking for opinions from you guys that know me best is this persona a good match for my personality? If not, what do you think'd work for me? Does it work at all with the garb I have? Did or did not the Kelts wear kilts (I've seen arguments for both on the internet).

Well, plans have changed. I will be coming to War after all. The reason I was missing war in the first place was a wedding in upstate NY. Unfortunatlly for those involved the wedding is no longer taking place.

Even is they did decide to get back together AND get married in less that 3 months I don't think I'd still attend. Alyssa knows I was only going in the first place outta respect and love for her(it's her familly that lives up there).

Actually they're pretty cool people and can be quite fun to hang out with but the 8 hour drive really gets to me. Plus the fact that it was the same time as Pennsic.... Can you figure out which one I'd rather do?

Gotta tell you guys, I'm looking forward to seeing you at War Practice. It'll have to be a mini-Pennsic for me as I can't come this year. Feeling kinda down about that. This will be the 3rd year that I've missed since joining the SCA back in the day (94?).

Other than a little pre-Pennsic depression everythings going really good in my life. Alyssa and I are doing great, I have a new job doing tech support for United Health Group that I love! The only downside is the commute down 270 from Frederick to rockville but I'm trying to stay positive about that and using it as private time.

I was wondering if anyone would want to do another camp out in September like the anti-camptown, lol. My familly has some land in Pa near raystown lake (cassville, pa). It looks like it'd be about a 4 hour drive down 66 for you pittsburgers (per google maps) We' dhave to do it before hunting season though as the land is primarilly used for hunting. Hunting season starts September 30th. SO i was thinking the weekend of the 20th. That would be exactlly 1 month after war so it might be a bit much for some of you lucky bastards that are going to Pennsic.

I know we have talked about this around the camp fire but I seem to have forgotten completlly about it till I talked with ross a few minutes ago. Funny how that happend, huh? Stupid Alcohol.
