Anka Kusu took the stage a bit early and we had the blessing of about 15 to 20 minutes of open dance for a sound check- we really enjoyed it. It was wonderful to sit and jam and I got to tell ya, our Guitarist really pulled some music out of the back of his brain for it. Then we performed for the Anka Kusu dancers. I heard some wonderful feedback and want to thank our supporters.

Just a quick note about Spring Caravan, we take the stage at 1pm on Saturday, May 2nd. I do hope to see some smiling faces out there in the audience. The work has been hard and plentiful for this show.

I have to start over with my drumming after 15 years, but hope that these changes will be able to make me be a better, cleaner drummer. Things have been busy on the Anka Kusu front (We were voted "Best performers of 2008" by NJ Belly Dance, how exciting is that?
I feel that we have accomplished alot in the past year. I want to very much thank all of our supporters who logged in and voted for us, as well as those who voted at the NJ belly dance social back in November, where we took second place for our "belly dance with a twist" entry.

I will be hosting a monthly Middle Eastern Music night on the 4th Wednesday of each month at 7:00pm

Musicians of all skill levels are welcome to come and Jam.

A very limited supply of loaner drums are available. Each month we will strive to learn a new song that is commonly played at Hafla's in and out of the SCA. There will be a $2.00 charge for sheet music.
