Steampunk
(blog entry)
Steampunk costuming is tricky, it seams like people always go with alot of 'steam' (1800s influence, or so ive been told), and hardly any 'punk'. Ive seen some really lovely costumes that have been labeled steampunk, and i love them no matter what...

about me
I like mean humor, Lisa Lampanelli, Dennis Leary, Louis Black...ANY ROAST...I've learned that this doesn't make me a bad person, and is a constructive way for me to vent the anger over the many ways I have gotten screwed over the past 3 years or so. I am fervent about my dancing for the first time in a very very long time, and am performing as a guest with Koreshakti once every couple of months or so. I love art, but the kind i do requires technology of which i am not currently availed, so my art career is put on hold, temporarily of course. I want to connect with people and experience oneness with my fellow dancers and human beings, but I am alot to handle, and often times even my better friends have trouble taking me as I am. I hope to make some meaningful connections here with people both local and otherwise, and to learn from all of you whatever i can.

Ive seen some really lovely costumes that have been labeled steampunk, and i love them no matter what there called, im just saying...dont fear the hardware...or call it victorian fusion instead? When i think steampunk i think of something with a bitt of a post-apoc feel to it, an amalgomation of victorian finery, and survival necessities like armor ...

Well, im trying to make it to tribalFest in sebastopol next year as well as honeymooning in ireland with my future hubby, i really dont think im going to be able to do both, and ill choose ireland over TF07 anyday of the week, but the only way i could do it would be to caravan down with other dancers from the region who are going...hmmm...thoughts.....would it be easier to drive or fly?, how long should i go? i have family in oakland, but its still a looong ass drive from there to sebastopol....
