What to wear will follow behind what to dance to.
The nice thing is that I haven't had to order a new costume, I've got at least 3 that are pining away to be worn. ;-P
I've pretty much decided to do an Egyptian piece, followed by who knows what.
I've had Lissa Fakir running through my head essentially non stop for over 2 weeks now, so that might be what I dance to. After all, i've practiced it in my head exhaustively. ;-)
Dharet al Ayam is intriguing too, although i'm really loving the Samer Issa version from the Ya Bahaia cd. Although come to think of it, i don't think I've seen anyone in Boston dance to Ya Bahaia, other than me...
BUT, if my black silk fans get here in time, it'll be a whole different story!

I'd say I've been having trouble, too, except that I did what I always do... I picked a piece awhile ago (like, before I picked music for Arisia), then two weeks ago I HATED it, and HAD TO CHANGE. And then I had a CD with about 9 "possibles" that I listened to whenever I was in my car, and then I chose some music that I was going to have to cut but someone else (near me in the schedule) is dancing to a very similar song, so now I think I'm going with my second choice. :)
The costume is.... 80% done. I guess I feel less alone about it now! |

I went through a similar process, Kat, had 8 cd's with seperate routines for the show and decided about an hour before leaving the house what I was dancing to. Which was not on the list at all. :-)
